There have always been some items on the room service menu that they charge for. Shrimp platter, Caviar, imported cheese platter etc.

Most cruise lines do have certain items that have extra charges like shrimp plates, some cheese and appitizers platters or other items you would be inclined to order if having a small get together in the cabin; as for charging for all items, I may have missed this, but I have only seen one reference to charges on the room service menu and it referred to some items having a charge, not all items.

 

Lets hope they do not all have charges

I just came off the Dawn and it did not seem that the Room Service menu had changed from last April and our 15 yo son orders from Room Service ALOT.

 

They were implementing 2.0 on our sailing so maybe they hadn't gotten to that yet.
