Boarding in Dover

There was a small cafeteria that sold bottles of water and soda at the Dover pier where we boarded the Regatta. I don't remember seeing any convenience shops there. You might try the Port of Dover homepage for more information: http://www.doverport.co.uk/

PS - Are you taking the train from London to Dover? We did, and had been told by the Conductor that the distance from the Dover train station to the pier is walkable. It is...if you're an Olympic athlete! It's far! Take our advice -- get a cab (and we're in our 40s and in shape).

Just to get down the pier would be a feat for some!!:D

I would just take a cab into town once you drop off your luggage or if you are taking "private transport" ask them to stop at the grocery store.

From many points of view Dover Cruise Terminal is extremely well done and organised .......no need to tip porters etc or haul cases .......porters are right there ready to load your luggage onto big carts

However as said shops to buy sodas etc are not there and its a fair walk back into town
