ocho514 Posted May 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Hi everyone, I have never written a review before but promised that I would after my Glory cruise. I am going to include a lot of pictures because that was always my favorite part of reading the reviews so, it is proboably going to be long please bare with me...here goes..... My husband and I left SC for Port Canaveral on Friday 5/9 at around 1 am. After making a few stops along the way, we arrived at the Radisson on the port around 10 am. ( I suggest that if you are going to be staying at the Radisson and will be arriving before the normal 3pm check in time, you should do the online check in on their website and you can enter your arrival time and they will have your room ready). For the price ($129 which includes breakfast for 2, free parking for the length of the cruise, and a shuttle over to the port) this was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Here are some pics: The sleep number bed that was sooooooo comfortable: My husband in the huge jacuzzi tub and no, we did not get in there with our clothes on ;) Ok, so after checking out the room, we decided to get changed and head out to the pool: To be continued...... ocho514 Posted May 19, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted May 19, 2008 The next morning when we woke up and looked out our window, there she was: We got ready, had breakfast, and waited for our 11:30 am shuttle over to the port: We arrived at the port, and we on the ship within 30 minutes...I was expecting at least an hour wait but...they rush you right through which was awesome!! We had lunch on the Lido deck and a few DOD's :D and then went to our cabin (Upper Deck 6373)at 1:30 pm to put away our carry on's. We met our cabin steward Renato from the Phillipines, who was great and took really good care of us all week. This pic is of me and Renato: We then changed into our bathing suits and headed back up to the Lido deck to get some sun. We headed back to our cabin around 3:30 to get ready for the dreaded muster drill, and our luggage was already there. We had time to put a few things away and then the annoucement was made to head to the muster stations: This wasn't so bad, but I was really mad that sail away started during the muster drill...I mean come on, you can't wait 5 more minutes!!!! Anyway, we pretty much ran through people with life jackets in hand and up the 5 flights of stairs to get back up to the Lido deck to be able to enjoy what was left of the sail away: To be continued....... ocho514 Posted May 19, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted May 19, 2008 After sail away we had a few more DOD's, a little more sun, and went to the Red Sail for dinner: That night, we decided to check out the nightclub (White Heat). It was o.k. I guess its just that my husband and I are both 28 and I guess we thought that there would be some younger people hanging out here but it seems like most everyone else was in there 40's +. I don't want to sound mean and they paid there money just like we did but 50 year olds dancing to hip hop wasn't really what we thought that we would see there. But the club itself was cool other than the DJ kinda sucked and it didn't seem like he really knew what he was doing: White Heat: After hanging out here for a little while we decided to turn in since we would be up early the next morning ready for Nassau. ocho514 Posted May 19, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Day Two Nassau: We were up early, had breakfast and were some of the first in line to get off of the ship. We walked through town caught the #10 A Jitney over to cable beach and got off right in front of the Wyndham and Sheraton resorts. Went inside and bought a day pass for $15 each which includes the use of their beach, lounge chairs, pool, and other facilities. The beach was beautiful, was not crowded, and the pool was awesome: DH: Myself: After hanging out here for a couple of hours we took a cab back into town and walked had lunch at Senor Frog's: You could see the ships from here, it is right on the port:
DaisyGirl55 Posted May 19, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Your review is awesome...and you have only started writing about your cruise. I feel like I am on the ship with you...great pix...they help make it even more like I'm really there. I'm sailing on the Glory in August, and your review just makes it a little harder to wait for my turn! Can't wait to read the rest of the story.... ocho514 Posted May 19, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted May 19, 2008 After lunch we made a mistake......and walked through the straw market. Not fun......people pestering you to buy something, braid your hair, give a $20 donation and they will give you a little beaded necklace, etc...oh yeah and it is at least 100 degrees under this big white tent with so many people and stuff everywhere that you can barely walk through. We got out of there as quickly as we entered, and headed down the street to get a T-shirt from Hard Rock: Afterwards, we headed back to the ship and took a few pics of the port along the way: Atlantis: At 2:00 pm we were sailing away from Nassau, and on our way to St. Thomas. ocho514 Posted May 19, 2008 Author #13 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Day Two continued: Since we left port so early from Nassau we decided to hang out on the Lido deck for a while before we had to get ready for the Captain's party and first formal night. We went down the slide a couple of times like 5 year olds...lol: DH: all you could see was feet...ha ha ha After enjoying the sun and the slide we went in to get ready for formal night. We went to the captain's cocktail party and took advantage of the free drinks. The captain: We then went and had some formal pictures made which all turned out great and we spent way too much money on them and then we had late sitting for dinner (8:15pm) in the Platinum Dining dining room. We only ate dinner in the dining room on both formal nights (Sun & Thurs) and our table mates never showed up either night....but thats ok, it would have been nice to meet some new people though. When we returned back to the cabin we had a little friend waiting there for us: Next....Day Three, Fun Day at Sea

Great pics by the way:D How much time from port to the beach at Nassau in taxi? And how much did it cost you? We hope to go to the beach with our 3 kids while in Nassau. It took a little longer to get to the beach on the Jitney than it took to get back by taxi because we made a few stops along the way. It costs $1 per person for the jitney\bus and it took about 20-30mins. It cost $15 to get back to the port by taxi and it took about 15 mins. I would really recommend going to this beach and also the day pass at the Wyndham because it is really slummy (is that a word?) throughout the town but Cable Beach is beautiful. ocho514 Posted May 19, 2008 Author #16 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Day Three Fun Day at Sea: We got up and went to the Red Sail for breakfast....the french toast is some of the best I have ever eaten... and then headed out on the Lido Deck to find a couple of lounge chairs. We never had any problems with finding a chair, and never noticed anyone really hogging or stealing people's chairs. There was a volleyball tournament today which Dh participated in: Afterwards we headed back out on the deck for a coconut head drink ($14.95): After enjoying the sun for a while we decided to play putt-putt but it was nearly impossible because it is soo windy up there: To be continued....
