Samantha Brown and Carnival thursday

I'd like to know if the USA Network show "Character Fantasy" -- which is where a woman is a Cruise Director for a day on the Carnival Paradise -- is supposed to air. I thought it was this week sometime, but I couldn't find any info about broadcast dates/times on the USA Network website....

This is a copy of an email from Stephanie, John Healds right arm for the blog:

The Character Fantasy airs on Saturday between 2 and 4 pm. It will be shown throughout the afternoon movie in small segments, probably before the commercial breaks.

I love Samantha! What I would love even more...her job!:p

Definitely setting my DVR for that night.

LOL...my hubby and I love her shows. And we always say, "she has the best job in the world!"

Watching her shows is the next best thing to being there.

Thanks!

I thought it was a program in and of itself....I guess it's more like a ....ummm...."mini" program!

This was posted by Big Ed on John's blog:

The episode with John will be this Saturday at 2pm est. It’s on the USA channel during the movie “BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE”. During the movie they will go to Jeannie Mai for her segments of “Character Makeovers”. Here is a link to that show were you can see the schedule and older episodes. http://www.usanetwork.com/movies/characterfantasy/

Samantha Brown page on Carnival.com

http://www.carnival.com:80/cms/fun/samantha_brown/great_cruise_weekend.aspx

{also free DVD}

I can't figure out how to get the DVD. If you try to sign in, it just keeps going back to the same page to create new or sign in. Then I used my daughters info to sign up as a new registration and then it just took the name & email info & said "thanks for registering" nothing about an address to send the DVD. I am not pleased about that.

Out of all the ships in the Carnival fleet, why the Imagination? I guess for the weekend theme, they had to go with that ship with a short itinerary. If it were a week long cruise--def should be a newer ship like Carnival Freedom...

Coming from her past 2 cruises on newer RC ships...probably was hard to have a fair comparison. look forward to seeing the show.

It was actually the Inspiration. The show deals with long weekend getaways so the four day was a perfect fit...

I don't know what you're referring to. Is it about cruising?

Character Fantasy is a "entertainment filler" that airs during a movie.

Some people want to be opera singers, some want to be chefs...etc.

There was a lady that had always dreamed of being a Cruise Director.

So CF filmed John on the Paradise with this lady showing her the ropes.

They taped it in one day...so I would expect 1 to 2 minute snippets through out the movie on Saturday.

Me neither. I registered again with a different email and already received an email and voice mail from "my PVP".

Should have put a fake email and phone number.

I did reply to the email indicating that since I have 8 cruises booked on Carnival, I'm unlikely to add any more at this time.

I guess when they say limited quantities, they mean limited because they aren't letting just anyone in. I guess it's strictly for newcombers to the site and/or Carnival. That kind of sucks:mad:

It didn't used to say limited quantities which leads me to believe Carnival seriously underestimated demand.

I could record it to DVD myself. Hmm... Maybe I will and sell on Ebay Antigua or similar.

Im sure Carnival wants to showcase its Evolutions of Fun. It would be interesting to see if there is any spike in bookings after this show airs.

CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES FEATURED ON TRAVEL CHANNEL’S ‘SAMANTHA BROWN: GREAT CRUISE WEEKEND’ DEBUTING THURSDAY, JUNE 19

Host Samantha Brown Showcases Carnival Inspiration’s‘Evolutions of Fun’ Amenities in Hour-Long Show

MIAMI (June 19, 2008 ) – Carnival Inspiration – the first “Fun Ship” to feature the line’s hugely popular “Evolutions of Fun” enhancements – will be showcased on Travel Channel’s “Samantha Brown: Great Cruise Weekend” which premiers Thursday, June 19 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

The one-hour show is hosted by Travel Channel personality Samantha Brown who takes viewers on a tour of the many new features aboard the 2,052-passenger SuperLiner, including its expansive Carnival WaterWorks aqua park, Serenity adults-only retreat and the redesigned main pool.

A highlight of the show is Brown’s exhilarating ride down the 300-foot-long tube water slide which serves as the centerpiece of the Carnival Inspiration’s massive water park.

During the show, Brown also takes time to play a hand of blackjack in the casino, indulges in a relaxing treatment in the renovated Spa Carnival facility, and even takes a turn as the featured singer in the ship’s piano bar.

Other areas showcased within the program include Carnival Inspiration’s myriad full-service and casual dining options and wide variety of entertainment and live music venues, including an elegant multi-level theatre showcasing lavish revues.

Cameras also followed Brown as she participated in a dune buggy excursion in Cozumel, one of the featured ports on Carnival Inspiration’s year-round four- and five-day western Caribbean cruises from Tampa.

Following its premier episode June 19, “Samantha Brown: Great Cruise Weekend” will have an encore airing June 27 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on Travel Channel.

I'm sure they do too. I cant wait to watch tonight. And as someone said earlier, it is always exiting watching a carnival commercial before you go on a cruise!

Im down into double digits, and made final payment on my next cruise. Seemed like it would never get here.

I know I cant wait for the show. Looks like a hot topic as I just saw the 5th thread on this subject, so obviously everyone plans on watching the show.

I will be on Ecstasy before she has the upgrades, oh well, but Id like to see them too.
