ali38 Posted June 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Ha anyone been on a 1 nite cruise to nowhere? how was it and was it worth the money?
cb at sea Posted June 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2008 For me, the whole point of a cruise is being able to unpack and not have to worry with all your "stuff" for days and days on end! On a 1 nighter, it just wouldn't be worth the trouble, IMO!

Doc Manny Posted June 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Sure, but they've been on crappy boats. Is a major cruise line offering one? I think it would be great if you live driving distance from the pier.
cruiselover57 Posted June 16, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Ha anyone been on a 1 nite cruise to nowhere? how was it and was it worth the money? Most of the time, those cruises attract T/As. I've been on a 2-day to Ensenada - had a blast and the price was great (back in the 70's) - I don't think they do those anymore on the West Coast to Ensenada that is. sail7seas Posted June 16, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2008 We are close to Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in Boston and would sail a two nighter on an HAL ship, for sure, but might hesitate over a one nighter. Not sure that is worth the effort.
Rare Essiesmom Posted June 16, 2008 #7 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Look on a one night CTN as an introduction to the ship, or the cruise line, but not to cruising. We did a CTN out of NYC on NCL Spirit, and had been warned ahead of time that it is a booze cruise. As soon as the ship clears the harbor, the duty free shops open and you can buy as much as you can carry off the ship, no limits. The walkways were lined with table displaying beer, by 2pm (we sailed at 4pm) the hot tups were full of people with buckets of beer. In some areas, service was not as good as you would expect on a longer cruise where your wait staff and stewards get to know you. If the price is right, go for it. Prices may fall, so don't rush to book unless you want a particular cabin. EM
