booking on ship

We are new to Princess, can you book a next cruise on the ship and receive onboard credit. Thanks

Yes but the thing most do is book an FCC (Future Cruise Credit).

These are $100 each and can be used to deposit a future cruise when you get home. Depending on the length of the cruise and cabin category you book you will receive OBC as well as the low $100 deposit.

They are good for 4 years and can be canceled and reused reasonably.

Other then booking a specific cabin onboard we have never actually booked a cruise onboard. I don't see any advantage to that.

But if you do you can transfer it to your TA once you are back home. :)

Yes, in addition to the $100 deposit you get an OBC of $25 to $150 depending on the length of the cruise and whether you book an inside or outside cabin. You can also purchase a Future Cruise Credit for $100 and wait to book until after the cruise. You get the same benefits.

Booking on board is a win -win situation! Low deposit and shipboard credit.(plus if you do not use it in the alotted time frame(4 yrs) it's refunded.

Enjoy.

Absolutely! You have a couple of options, both of which are great. You can either book a specific cruise and be charged only a $100/pp deposit; or, you can pay $100/pp for a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) and then use that to book any cruise for up to four years. That FCC is your deposit so that you do not pay anything else when you book your next Princess cruise.

Whichever you choose to do, you get between $25 - $200/pp onboard credit for the cruise you book, including if you use your FCC. The difference depends on the cabin category and length of the cruise. So, not only do you get a really low deposit but in most cases, you get most or all of it back in OBC. It really is a win/win situation.

If you do book while onboard, you have a further choice: you can make it a Princess booking or it'll go to the TA who booked the cruise you're on, which is the default. If you're happy with your TA and feel they give you the best price, then have it go to your TA. If you want to see if you can find a TA that will give you the best price, have it designated a Princess booking. Any TA can then pick up the booking and give you their pricing.

Oh, something else. If you book a cruise in the future using an FCC, you only need to use one per cabin. The 2nd person in the cabin would then pay only a $100 deposit as though they too had an FCC. This is a great way to "stretch" out an FCC. One caveat, you can only purchase an FCC for someone actually on the cruise you're on. If it's just you and a husband/wife and the next time you want to bring the kids, you can't get FCCs for them but you can book yourself and one kid in one cabin, paying only $100 for them, and your husband/wife in the other cabin with the other child and pay only $100 deposit for the 2nd child.
