Thanks, I guess it is safer, no pun intended ;). I am loving reading your Capers, thanks.

How are you getting the capers? I get a blank under capers and menus. Anyone else having a problem?

I just tried again and everything worked but menus. Maybe try again? How wonderful are these people to take the time to feed our frenzy?

NolaAlive, loved your Monte Carlo pics, the "horse shoe" horse was great and wow, you have a great lense on that camera! The pics of the lovely sunbathing girls on the tiny little boats in port. :D My husband will love the pic of the harley loaded down with gear. I just never thought of Monte Carlo as quaint but you have captured that side of it.

Hey, great effort with the "work in progress" so far, mate. And a major, major note of thanks for taking time out of your holiday to feed our addictions, so to speak - I'm digging this "cruise by correspondence". I'm curious - your cabin, is it a 6A or 6B? We have 6203, a 6B, all ready for us in 52 days, so this site of yours is a nice way of filling in the gap.

Enjoy the rest of your trip, thanks again for taking the time to update, and feel free to keep the shots of the ship coming!

Cheers,

Mal and Lex

Hi Nola,

We love following your cruise with you. Wish we were there. How do you like your cabin? We booked an OV on deck 2 (only have had balconies before). Your photos are amazing!!!!!!! Does the food taste as good as it looks?

Thank you. The cabin is great. The beds are very comfortable. Some vibration from the thrusters when pulling into or out of port (I'm near the front of the ship), but the cabin itself is great and the A/C blows cold. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Life is good!

How is the food? How much do you drink? J/K. The food is wonderful. No worries there. Worst case, room service is 24 hours, as is the pizzeria.

Perhaps not Michelin 3 Star, but still pretty darn good.

Hi Nola, very much enjoying your pictures of the ship. Great work! We are going on the 16-day transatlantic and can’t wait. Just wondering, did I miss your pictures of the fitness center area? I’d be interested in seeing it if you have time.

Thanks!

Yes, they have scheduled activities, although I have not personally participated in any of them. ;)

I took most pics in between hurricanes when the kids were somewhere else, so there was still a little bit of picking up to do. I didn't know it was not allowed to take pictures when kids were there (but makes sense to me). It did not take them long to tell me to get lost. I was impressed with that.

There are also cameras (ala a casino) keeping an eye on everything.

It is broken down by age group: 2-5 yrs, 6-8 yrs, 9-11 yrs...

They publish the schedules so you can see what might be appealing. I picked up some and will try to get on the website as an example.

I think (?) Carnival reads CC, so thanks for the endorsement!

Nola,

Thanks again for all the pictures and info. Since you are on an extended holiday, my guess is you will either be doing laundry, or engaging the laundry service. To that end how much do they charge for the wash and fold laundry service? Is there a mid-week special? Actually in my case, for the Aug 6 12-day sailing with 6 land days before and 6 land days after, I would want to do laundry on first and last sea days so probably will have to engage the full cost wash and fold laundry service, or heaven forbid do it myself.

Once again thanks in advance for the info - Bob

Thanks so much for the great pics!!! How soundproof do the rooms seem to be? I have a deck 6 aft room that looks to be right over one of the lounges!! Debating whether I should move or if on the new ship they have adequate sound insulation!!

Hi sandgrace. My DW and I took my DD5 on a Carnival cruise last Dec '07. DD5 loved Camp Carnival which totally surprised us. CC has schedules printed daily and all the activities are really fun. They even included a build-a-bear day. On the Freedom they had about 10 monitors setup in one section of the room for the older kids with playstation 2s and many choices of games. I almost sat down to play for a while but DW pulled me out of the room. :D

Thanks so much for the wealth of info you are providing us! It is SO helpful. I am contemplating booking a spa balcony, and wonder if the extra amenities are worth it. Thanks for the pricing info on the therapy pool and thermal suite. I'm wondering if you know (or could find out) what type of discount on spa services the spa stateroom guests get? The Carnival website mentions a discount, but doesn't say how much.
