Hi going on first family cruise with 2 other families. 4 cabins, 1 with 3 18 year old boys, who are looking for a ball of a time, casino, bars, and hopefully girls. Any feedback for them, or suggestions, we are going in school holiday time as it overlaps with their uni holidays, hope this is not a huge mistake. Doing 7 day pacific cruise out of Brisbane. Anyone done this cruise recently?

I doubt that it will be a mistake:) . You'll have a great time and at least you're there to keep an eye on your 18 yo;) . My son turns 18 in December and is going on a cruise in January with 6 friends. I won't be there to keep an eye on him:eek: . I guess I have to let go sooner or later (would have prefered later though)

Thats why the boys are quite happy to be a deck away from us. And the one rule we would like is that they have to have dinner with us each night. Make sure theyre still alive and on board. Yes your right it can be tough letting go. We didnt think these boys would want to come with us, but amazing what a free trip can do.:)

I am sure it won't be a mistake. There are lots of threads here on what to take, shore excursions, snorkelling etc. It is probably simplest if you read through them and then come back on with specific questions.:):)

Hi Gingerja,

We were on the PS in May, lots of fun.

Are you on the 20th September?

If you are there is a very lonely roll call, I thought that we were the only ones going on that cruise until I had an email from someone last night who is also going. It is only DH and I this time, no kids.

One thing i suggest you tell them from growing up a wild child, Just let them know no matter what happens and how sick{drinking etc} they are for one of them to let you know.Let them know no one will get in trouble and thats it is just to make sure that they are fine etc.

I know as a young bloke as we all do we think we are invincible, but never be worried to check on them during the night. If you do it in a cool way they will be happy.:D

Just please repeat this advice to me when my 4 under 9 get to 18!:D

I am sure they will be fine like all of us have been.Just let them know if someone gets sick they let you know so you can do your thing!

Hey Gingerja,

Personally I would say it was far from a mistake you made by choosing this cruise. I have been on the Week Fantastique a few times, in Jan and also May on the PS. I love the atmosphere on the ship and being uni holidays will only make more younger people for the boys to hang out with, that is why we chose this cruise, as there are a few in our group who are younger. The Casino is really good and has lessons to learn the games, competitions for the serious gamblers. The nightlife is what the boys will more live for, so dont forget your costumes. The themed nights are excellent and everyone becomes so friendly with the games and the dances, Im a massive fan of the themed nights and get heaps dressed up and loooovvvveeee the cocktails. So it doesnt take long between the rockin and rollin of the ship and the cocktails to make me stumble. (Its more the cocktails but we blame it on the ship) ....Securtity on board are excellent, so no need to worry about falling overboard, they are always not far away to save ya!! :p . ID must be carried after about 8pm everynight otherwise you wont be allowed in to the Smugglers Bar or the Oz Nightclub. They are quite scrict on this these day. The boys should have a fantastic time. I will be on the same cruise. You should come to the Meet & Greet that Glenda is trying to organise. An awesome way to get to know more people and find out more things.

Pop in the Night club a few times,We are in our mid 40,s and had a ball last year.

The younger crew dont mind if you are there struttin your stuff for a bit.

Mind you I nearly had a heart attack dancing to "Put Your Hands up For Detroit"

How long is that song? I worked off all the food and beer for the whole trip on it:o

Ella, hi wondering where you look for a list of excursions offered, at each port, or do you only see them once you board the ship on a daily news letter or similar?

Hi Gingerja

When you get your blue ticket folder it will have a list of the shore tours or you can go to the P&O website and they also have a list of shore tours there too.

http://pocruises.com.au/html/view-shore-tours.cfm

When you receive your tickets you will have a form in the blue folder so that you can fax back your requested shore tours to P&O before you sail. They can be booked on board, but many of the shore tours book out early so if there is something you really want to do it would be worth faxing it back to them.

When I received my tickets this time they had forgotten to add in the form for my shore tours. But I have dedided to do my own this time so didn't need the form. If your form is missing call P&O and ask them for one.

Dan are you saying youve already received your tickets and shore excursion forms for cruise 20th Sept.? We've had nothing. Cheers

Hey

We recieved all out tickets and details today. Depends on when you paid you final payment and you travel agent as to when you get your tickets. As after the due date they only send the tickets out at specific times as Ive been told by P&O. So your tickets should not be far away but your travel agent should be able to chase them up for you.

Hey Michelle,

Thats very unfortunate about your daughter... I was looking forward to having someone round my own age... But thats excellent news about her job. As long as your daughter is happy, when Thalia does get holidays its just an excuse then for another cruise. So its not that bad at all.

Def will be seeing me with at least 1 cocktail in hand ;) Im so excited... Have you got any special plans for on your actually birthday??
