memphislonghorn Posted July 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2008 Hi, all. I'm booked at this inn for a week in October. Anyone stayed here or know anything about it? I have read maybe 10 reviews, all of them rave about it. Seems to be a very nice, quaint inn, and only 100 yards or so from the beach. If the pictures are accurate, seems to be an idyllic spot, with a grove of palms and a beautiful white sand beach. There is a condo between it and the beach, but that won't bother me. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!:)

I stayed at their sister inn, The windchimes inn. It is about a block away and if I am correct if you stay at Arcadia you are allowed to use Windchimes Pool. By the way I loved the windchimes and am thinking of staying there again this jan. (that's if the flights are still on!) REmember this is an inn not the hilton. It is quaint and different, but clean! Anyway if Arcadia is anything like Windchimes, as I am sure it is you will love it. I hope this helps. Helen
Mr. Boston Posted July 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2008 We stayed there in February and we loved it. Be advised that there is no elevator so if you may want to request a first floor room. It was so convenient to the beach and the neighborhood was charming with lots of places to eat (I recommend Pinky's for breakfast). Enjoy your trip, I'm jealous. Hflors Posted July 31, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Hi, is this the Inn that has a 3 night minimium? Never mind...I just checked their website and they do have a 3 night minimum.... I would call. I know their sister hotel has a note on their website telling people to request a waiver on the three night minimum. It doesn't hurt to ask. Rare Lois R Posted July 31, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Hi, thanks for the reply:) You know I will be disembarking the ship as you are boarding. I will call them and see what they say.
memphislonghorn Posted July 31, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted July 31, 2008 After my vacation I will give everyone a review. From everything I can gather, though, it seems like a great little inn.:)
Carolyn R Posted July 31, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Lois, Have you looked into "da House" in OSJ? Check out their website. It looks and sounds very interesting and the price is right. I also need a room for just me one night before boarding the Caribbean Princess and am considering this.
Rare Lois R Posted July 31, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Hi Caroyln:) I think you and I sailed together on Century back in 2005. Hope you are doing well. I have seen postings about "Da House" but didn't do anymore about it. I will look at it to see what its like.
Rare Lois R Posted July 31, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Carolyn, Da House does not have an elevator and depending on the room I don't want to have carry 2 bags up a bunch of stairs. Most of the reviews on Tripadvisor are good (with a few exceptions) but if I am going to be on a higher floor in hotel I would like an elevator;) I will most likely put a credit card down on Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express and then look on Priceline. Rare Lois R Posted July 31, 2008 #11 Share Posted July 31, 2008 Hi, me again.....I decided to give Priceline another try and got a resort:D and from looking at the photos it is worth every penney:D More than I normally spend on a hotel pre-cruise but I am happy! It is the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort and with taxes and fees it is 184.00....the Holiday Inn Express was almost that amount and this places looks FABULOUS:D
