Loaded Question??

I was just getting ready to say that, with Princess not far behind. And yes. anything over 10 days is a guarantee.

Or go on an 8 day middle of Jan....there were just about no kids of any age this yr on our Miracle cruise. I

've never been on a cruise like that. In fact, there were only a handful of 20 somethings on this cruise!

Ok friends...please do not get upset when I post this question. I do NOT mean to offend anyone.

How many of you would like a cruise line to offer a 18 and over cruise?

If there is one...can you let me know?

I do LOVE children by the way.

It would be great. A couple of years ago at a Past Guest Party, the speaker mentioned that several new innovations were upcoming with Carnival. He mentioned the Dream and Splendor, the improvements, the Water events, etc. He also said they were thinking about a ship strictly for adults 21 and over.

Well, a HUGE cheer went up with a lot of whooping and hollering (including myself, I might add).

Guess that good idea went by the wayside as I've never heard another thing about it......

I kind of hope it is like you say for our Miracle 8-day cruise. And from what others have said, on our Spirit 12-day cruise. Actually, I like kids, just not so much on a cruise. If they would just have or expand some truly adult only areas, I think that would be fine. The only thing with that (sorry young adults) is that I would probably vote for the adult area(s) to be for, say, 25 and above.

I don't understand the concern of offending someone that the OP has or why this would be considered a loaded question.

Seems as though every time this question is asked, someone is labeled as a "child hater"...

I'm certainly onboard w/this idea. Perhaps one of the reasons it didn't work with X was becuase of the ship? Didn't they try this with Infinity or Milli?

Instead of building them bigger, perhaps they should build one or two smaller ships (600-700 pax) and change up the itinerary - one alternating east/west and one doing a southern with alternating ports. I'm sure they could fill the ships.

I think its a good idea...but I know I would never go on an adult only cruise....but I think there should be an option out there for those who don't want to cruise with kids.

I, myself will always cruise with my child...so I wouldn't ever take an adult only cruise.

I wouldn't mind, but I don't think it's economically feasible on a mass market line. Besides, it ain't the kids that the problem, it's their parents.

Or lack of parents. Agree with this post though. I would be willing to pay a little extra for a cruise like this too.

We have lots of kids and grandkids, so we go on a cruise to get away from them ;) . We go between the Thanksgiving break and the Christmas break because most kids don't miss school when they have so many scheduled days off before and after early December. The cruises are very CHEAP during this time for that reason. There has been an adult only section on every cruise we've been on and we spend most of our time there. The weather in Mexico and the Caribbean is perfect in the winter. Maybe not the perfect time for an Alaskan cruise :D

I had to chuckle at the 22-y/o who said he'll push and knock down people because that's what is expected of him... HAHA...

One reason I chose the cruise I did was because school is barely getting started (just a few weeks) and after Labor Day. Plus my b'day... I am hoping for less kids. I actually don't mind well-behaved kids and having fun and such; however I cannot stand bratty kids and parents trying to negotiate with them rather than being a parent and MAKING them behave.

So fingers crossed. One thing that appealed to me on a Disney cruise is they have decks that are adult only. I'd love it if Carnival did that.

Yup, it was Jan 18th we went this yr on the Miracle and we even felt kinda sorry for the few 20 somethings because there was such a small group of them. Even the 4 day cruise proceeding this one had barely any kids of any age.

We've done the 8 night (Sts. Martin, Kits, Lucia) the past 2 years in January. We've always taken it when we would be sailing Saturday through Sunday which would also be most attractive to families with children in school. The bottom line is that there were few if any "ankle-nippers" on either one.

Over our 5 year cruise history, we've cruised in every month from September through May and have never encountered a lot of children.

Carnival Legend has a 21 and older cruise next April. No kids at ALL. It's a full charter and nude sunbathing will be allowed at all pool areas. Should be an interesting Carnival cruise...

Which resort did you go to? We are looking at going to one but can't decide which one we would like the best.

...

We stayed at the Aventura Spa Palace in the Mayan Riviera; it's a 50 minute ride from the Cancun Airport. The rate included some excursions at no additional cost. Another adults-only resort in the Cancun area which I'm considering for a vacation is the The Royal in Playa Del Carmen.

Maybe when your child is an adult your child would like to go on an adult-only cruise.;)

Maybe they will... haha that is why I said its good to have the option out there. I just won't since we will always cruise as a family..then we would obviously not be allowed on an adult only cruise ;)

I don't need an all adult cruise, just adult areas would be nice. And they need to enforce those adult areas. I've yet to see a kid kicked out of a hot tub. But don't you dare try to drink a beverage while in there! The week were were on the Triumph, there were kids in the adult pool area all week. The only time I saw security say anything, was when they were running around having a water fight with cups from the buffet. Did I mention their parents were right there doing nothing while their kids threw water that landed on people near the pool?

And when the parents fail, that is when the cruise lines need to step up to the bat and take responsiblity:cool:

I think kids on cruises are entertaining! I never have had my kids on board with us. I recall thinking,"Those poor parents, having to put up with all that crap!" " Glad those aren't MY kids!", etc. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids. I'm just fortunate that we have some great relatives to watch the little darlings so we can get some much deserved "us, not them" time. And don't tell me some of you don't wish you could be alone for more than a day at a time. Just MHO:o

I'm with you! I don't mind other people's kids being along - they aren't MY responsibility! It's my own that drive me crazy! But, now that my oldest is 21, might not be as much of a problem!

Hello,

I don't need an adults only cruise but enjoy the adults only areas. The parents and cruise line need to enforce the rules!! Then the problem would be solved for most of us. If it says Aults only, why do they bring their kids there?

I work for a school district and I love children { work with Ed students } but when I am on vacation somtimes I need a break!

Thanks,

Julie

But, since you are working with the children or in school when they are, that either leaves you on ship in the summer with a zillion kids, adults only cruise or or an adult resort only. You really are limited :( .

I guess when you retire it will be great, you could look at it that way :D

We would definately be interested! We specifically book our cruise times (or any other vacation times as well) based on the school year. We're raised our little darlin's . . . now we enjoy adult activities with other adults. We don't even mind well behaved children accompanied by parents who give a mouse's behind how their own little darlin's are affecting everybody around them. Badly behaved children are the direct result of badly behaved parents.

I will tell you that on the July 6th sailing of the Legend security did enforce the no children in the adults only pool area. I'm not sure how or why, I saw one young man of about 9 cannonball into the pool and the waitstaff said no-no. When he didn't leave a security officer escorted he and his parents away to a huge cheer!

They also were pretty relaxed about us having our drinks in the pool on the last sea day.
