Rare springgrl Posted January 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2009 We are planning to sail on RCI this summer and were wondering whether it would be best to book a Superior Balcony room or a Deluxe Balcony room and a Promenade view room directly across from it. We are a family of four with a 16 yr. old and 11 yr. old and are concerned about space. Last time we cruised with RCI we had one room but the kids are much bigger now! Thanks for your help. cruisin from florida Posted January 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2009 IMO - Two. No doubt.
hacmangum Posted January 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2009 Lets just say that we ended up with two rooms- and not for much more than one would have been! THe kids got a promenade room a few doors down- which means we had to sacrifice our preferential Deck 10 balcony but I think we will survive!! Also, if you think about it- there are 2 bathrooms, so no waiting around for everyone to get ready! Have fun!
glasscruising Posted January 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2009 We always book 2 rooms. Connecting rooms when possible. I like having two bathrooms. Our kids are 15 and 11.
Rala Posted January 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2009 If you can afford it, definitely go for the two rooms. This will give you two bathrooms, more storage space and privacy for Mom and Dad. And you can enjoy the view from each other's cabin!!! Have fun!
jtwisconsin Posted January 8, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2009 Two rooms for us when traveling with the kids as well. I wouldn't do it any other way.
galavant3 Posted January 8, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2009 TWO ROOMS!!! We've done both and two rooms is much, much better. We put the kids in an interior across from us and we are in a balcony. Once we did two connecting oceanviews and that worked out well also. Rare springgrl Posted January 9, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Thanks so much for your input! Actually, our TA said the two rooms will be $100 less than one superior balcony room! Two rooms it is!
cb at sea Posted January 9, 2009 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2009 A so-called "superior" is still not large enough for 4 comfortably, IMO. Get 2 rooms. It makes life sooooo much easier!
TennisLover Posted January 9, 2009 #10 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Two rooms, no doubt. My kids loved the PR cabin. (This trip, they are getting an inside only because we are getting our first JS!)
