cabrx Posted February 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Being a new princess cruiser I would like information/feedback on the sanctuary. How do you reserve a spot and any feedback if you felt it was worth the cost? THanks, in advance.
dpump Posted February 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Newbie here, what's the Santuary?
Sea Hag Posted February 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Newbie here, what's the Santuary? It's one of those extra cost services that helps subsidize my cruises, since others purchase this and I don't. :) Seriously, it's an adults only area. It offers cushy lounges, massages, whatever. On the Star, and probably on others as well, it's in the front of the ship.
LuvTheGoodLife Posted February 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 3, 2009 You reserve a spot by showing up early (like 7:00 am or whatever time they open) and paying for a spot. I believe cost is around $10 per half day and $15/20 for a full day. You do not have to use it as soon as you pay- you just pay and pick your spot and come back when you want. Your lounger is reserved. Probably busiest on sea days vs. port days. I would consider on a sea day if the ship was really crowded but have not felt the need on the past 2 cruises. Adventures ahead Posted February 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 3, 2009 I read that it's free when having a spa treatment - is it for a limited period of time? Only immediately before or following the treatment? Half-day? Full-day? How would a reservation work if you're booked for a treatment and the Sanctuary is full up? An IOU?
10XCRUISE Posted February 4, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2009 Just off the Island Princess and the Sanctuary was empty most of the cruise. It's on the back of the ship and rather windy. We found the 'free' adult pool next to the Lotus Spa quiet, comfortable and has an enclosed glass roof.
GloriaF Posted February 4, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2009 There was a post earlier that included a link to some photos. If you use the search feature, you may be able to find it. I've never felt the need to use the Sanctuary - we usually spend sea days on our own balcony during daylight hours.
