Sanctuary question

Newbie here, what's the Santuary?

It's one of those extra cost services that helps subsidize my cruises, since others purchase this and I don't. :)

Seriously, it's an adults only area. It offers cushy lounges, massages, whatever. On the Star, and probably on others as well, it's in the front of the ship.

You reserve a spot by showing up early (like 7:00 am or whatever time they open) and paying for a spot. I believe cost is around $10 per half day and $15/20 for a full day. You do not have to use it as soon as you pay- you just pay and pick your spot and come back when you want. Your lounger is reserved. Probably busiest on sea days vs. port days. I would consider on a sea day if the ship was really crowded but have not felt the need on the past 2 cruises.

There was a post earlier that included a link to some photos. If you use the search feature, you may be able to find it.

I've never felt the need to use the Sanctuary - we usually spend sea days on our own balcony during daylight hours.
