Any word on when the Crown Grill will be completed? Has anyone on the ship, who works there week to week indicate when it will be done?

Thanks..

I befriended a couple of the guys who were working on it on our 1/25 cruise. They said then, it would be a month. Based on what I've heard since then, they should be done soon!

San10s,

Thank you so much for posting live - it sounds like you're having a great time. I can't wait to here more.

You mentioned the Executive Chef and Maitre'd and I was hoping that you could tell me the names of the Captain and CD when you get a chance.

Thanks again.

Hi Sharon

The CD is Dan Styne (sp?) but I do not have my Patters with me right now and can't remember the Captains name. I do believe it is Augustino Romano but I might not have that 100% correct. Compared to all our previous cruises (22)....this Captain is not really out and about. Of course maybe I have been in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Hi. I've got a question that I hope, since you are on board, you can find out the answer for me.

The Ultimate Card for kids.... my DD has a question. My grandson is only 4. If we bought him the card (because he does like his strawberry margaritas and hot chocolate) does he have to go to the bar each time or can dad go without him? It would be a hassle to have to bring him each time but since it would be a minor's card that the sticker is affixed to, would that be ok or does the kid have to go each time. I'd buy it if dad could just go, but if we have to drag him to the bar each time it might be a hassle.

I'll see what I can find out later today!

Good Morning from Dominica! :D

It is my first time here (hard to believe I haven't seen EVERY island in the Caribbean yet!) and I am looking forward to leaving soon for our ship's tour of the River Tubing & Emerald Pool. This is the only ship's tour we are doing this trip. The peaks of the mountains are covered with clouds and it certainly looks like there will be showers out there. At the dock we are in sunshine however.

I am so far behind where I wanted to be in posting but I will try for the "Reader's Digest" version for a couple of days....

Monday - Sea Day......We love our sea days and one on this itinerary is certainly not enough. We slept in a little and then by 7:30 AM were up on deck. I was shocked to be able to find deck chairs right by the forward pool. We got 14 chairs all facing each other on the upper deck. It was easy to go get a slice of pizza later on and very easy to go to the pool or hot tub from there. We had good weather although a shower sent people scurrying! This was our first formal night so we were looking forward to dinner. We did not attend the cocktail party but many did. We ended up choosing to go to the Seafood Buffet in the Caribe Cafe for "appetizers". I was surprised not to have the Seafood Buffet the first night but we still enjoyed it. Some of us ate FAR more than had been planned due to the HUGE piles of lobster claws and King Crab legs. Needless to say, we weren't too hungry even though we ate late....at 8:30 PM. I had a salad and something else that was small and then what I mainly went for.....the SOUFFLE!! I love them and can't wait for another one tonight!

We spent some time in the Casino and I had a nice evening on the penny slots. I left with $526 in "their" money! :D I have slowly been giving it back however... The Casino is bigger than I thought it was going to be after looking at some photos but it does seem that the machines are spreadout more. Not too many updated ones are to be found either.

Okay....just looked at my watch and it is time to go grab the hubby and head out to meet our tour!

I love reading all the news...keep it coming.

Hi,

Could you confirm if late traditional sitting is at 8:15pm or 8:30pm? I see from your post than you state that you ate at 8:30 - are you on Antime dining?

Thanks for taking the time post. It has been most helpful. We are on the March 8th sailing on the same itinerary.:D

I am anxious to hear about your river tubing tour. I am signed up for just the river tubing part in April. I am having second thoughts about it though since I hear that the ride there can be scary (too close to the edge of a cliff or something like that).

We have what seems to be a very nice group of people in the roll call for the March 8th sailing of the CB. Why drop into the roll call and say hello?

Can you provide some information about the ports you have visited so far??

Any recommendations on port shore excursions or places to visit would be greatly appreciated. (ship or independent tours??)

What about Dominica tours? Too strenous for seniors ?? How about Grenada and Aruba...any tips??

:D

Keep enjoying!

Hi Judy,

Thanks for posting live. I just want to say hi. We sailed with you on the Crown repo in Oct. 07. I see you haven't changed either, we still like to be 1st on the ship too. We sailed on the CB in May & are sailing on her again this summer. Looking forward to having all the upgrades I love from the Crown & the Emerald. Take good care of her for us.

Hi Judy,

Thanks for the live report - enjoying it very much! Where did the ship dock in Dominica - Roseau, Cabrits or Woodbridge Bay? When I pull up the port schedule website - it just says "Dominica" and when I asked Princess, they didn't know - lol. Just trying to figure out how far things will be depending on where we are.

Would love to hear what you did in the other ports too - but of course, we understand that you are supposed to be on vacation!:D

Thanks very much!

Thank you for the updates! Did I understand correctly that the seafood buffet was not available on Sailaway day but on Monday (formal night)?

Yes! We went to the Caribe Cafe on Sunday night....the first night on board and were told they were not having it! I went to the main buffet area and spoke with an officer and he went to check with someone and they came back and said it would be the following evening.....formal night / Monday night. I was shocked at how few people were there and as the cruise went on, people I spoke with didn't "know anything about it". It was posted in the Patters of course. :D
