Cabin choices - need help

Recommended Posts

We are planning our 2010 cruise and want to know if the stern cabins or the hump cabins are the best ones to book. We are planning early so once the openings for 2010 come available we want to book. We definitely want the balcony, but cabin space is even better. Any help will be appreciated from the ones who helped us on our last cruise. Thanks to everyone who helped make our Med cruise fantastic.

:confused:we might be able to help if you weren't keeping the ship a secret!!!:D

aft cabins are farther from the elevator....may or may not have soot on the balcony...may or may not be noisy (depends what is above and below) may or may not have lots of vibration (not just up and down or side to side, but shaking....!) all things to consider.

some people are bothered by things that others do not mind.

my adivce is book the biggest cabin you can afford....in the location you prefer....if you like a hump cabin, great. on radiance-class ships, i believe balconies on the hump are a little bigger...on voyager class they are not....

if yo like aft for a (sometimes) bigger balcony...go for it....

Before you book, have the deck plans in front of you. Hump cabins are very convenient--and on Radiance class, some of the humps have larger balconies, too! (Check the deck plans!!!)

The "aft" cabins do have deeper balconies, but the cabins are the same size as any other in their catagory, with a few exceptions--again, the deck plans come in handy!

We prefer hump--or close to it!

Thanks megr1125 and dbatsea for your help. We are going on the Baltic Sea cruise and really wanted a good cabin. I now think the ones near on on the hump will suit us better. Appreciate your help.

I do not know what ship you will be sailing so here are the Radiance class Hump cabins and the Voyager class Hump cabins.

Below is a view of the Radiance class hump cabins. You can see the balconies are quite large on some of them.

With the elevators on one side of that class ship, there are not as many of the Hump cabins.

Below is the Voyager Class and you can see the Hump cabins and balconies are all the same size. It looks exactly like this on the other side of the hump also.

That very tiny extra space you see on the balcony is actually in the cabin itself.
