greenp Posted March 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Please can anyone tell me if there is a dedicated cigar lounge on the Westerdam ? Resent reports from the Westerdam indicate an out break of Novovirus on the ship, does anyone know the scale of such an out break and have they got rid of the virus ? RetiredMustang Posted March 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2009 We sailed on Westerdam March 8. What used to be the cigar lounge, the Oak Room, next to the Crow's Nest, has been taken over by the Explorations Cafe. The cigar smokers I think went to the aft Lido pool area; that's where the cigars under the stars meeting was held. Dave
greenp Posted March 23, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Thanks Retired Mustang, do you have any news on the Westerdam Norovirus situation ?
Rare geoherb Posted March 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2009 We were on the Westerdam last week. The ship had events where cigar smokers were invited to the aft pool bar area. I did not participate. There is a long thread on the Code Red situation here.
RetiredMustang Posted March 23, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 23, 2009 greenp, We did not have code red on our sailing, thankfully. As geoherb wrote, there is an active thread on the situation on Westerdam; perhaps someone on board now will report on conditions. Dave
RuthC Posted March 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2009 do you have any news on the Westerdam Norovirus situation ? A ship can be thoroughly clean of noro, no signs of it for weeks, and then return with a vengence. There is no way to predict when it will be present. All anyone can do is be careful to keep hands clean, and away from the face.
