Solstice - 18th Sept anyone going with Kids?

We are going on our first Celebrity cruise this september, 18th, with our two children, just wondering if anyone else is going with kids as it is school time - hope they not the only ones!! Also wondering if anyone knows of best way for us to get from Fiumicino airport to civitavecchia.

There are likely to be very few kids.

Most parents are reluctant to take their children out of school when they are just beginning the year. There will be preschoolers however.

I also suspect that there will be few chidren. I guess the good news would be that they will have the run of the kids areas on the ship LOL.

There are many ways to the port from the airport. The best place to search is the Port of Call/Europe/Mediterranean - Eastern & Western forum. You need to take into consideration, the amount of luggage and the age of the children. There are taxis, limos, busses and trains and the prices vary as much as well. Some prices are per person and others are per trip. Some hotels offer pick up for a fee if you are getting there the day before.

We cruised the Mediterranean in mid September, 2004 on a Royal Caribbean ship and there were very few children. Most were preschool and there were some under 10 from European countries.

Thanks for advice! Boys are 11 and 6, both are really looking forward to cruise, they have been studying ancient greece etc at school. How do we join the roll call please? Am not very good at all this!!! Have been lucky enough to get a family stateroom, 575sq ft!! :o
