How much cash in pocket required?

If you take more cash than you need, when you get home, your bank will let you re-deposit it! Take MORE than you think you'll need, and you won't have to worry about "budgeting" so much! You'll find in ports, if you shop at any 'straw markets', cash is easier (and sometimes the only thing accepted!) than a credit card for those "small" purchases...but they do add up.

You'll need cash for room service tipping (that's not included in your gratuities), tips for cabs, etc... Don't forget about the odd soda or drink onshore--cash for machines, you know...

Goodness!

I was thinking about 250 dollars in cash! LOL that is IT.

What do I need cash for, I can do my sign and whatever for drinks and stuff, right? I'm bugeting 250 for that as well (125 each) we are not BIG drinkers but we'd like to have 2 or 3 drinks each day each.

1000 dollars! 2500 Dollars??????????

The cruise only cost 530 dollars!

lol i agree :D

We usually carry about $200 to $250 on a cruise. We use this for minor purchases in the ports and for additional tips to exceptional service staff on the ship. We rarely use it all.

Depends............. But only you can answer this question.

Will you gamble ?

Buy suveniers ?

Shore excursioins ?

Eat/Drink in ports ?

But a good rule of thumb is to take a good quantity of small bills, like 60 in 1's, 60 in 10's..

How much cash should I take with me for the 7 day carribean cruise (Conquest) leaving room Galveston?

I went on 6 -day freedom with my two daughters...15 & 17. I brought $600 in cash (went home with $100)...and ended-up with $850 on my sail & sign. I also used my visa in KW, GC and Ocho Rios probably to the tune of $350....this was for some excursions, small gifts and cocktails/shirley temples, food.

My wife likes looking at rocks. So I don't even want to think about this question

Why do they put so many jewelry stores at the end of each pier? :p

Do you guys try not to use ATM's, credit or debit cards because of foreign country fees, exchange rates and so on? (could someone give us the run down on what to use when? credit, debit, cash... and is the cash in the casino any cheaper fee wise than the ships ATM)
