cathyoo Posted June 2, 2009 #76 Share Posted June 2, 2009 I think every cruise I've done something new without actually planning for it. But my next two cruises have something new already added. Cruise in Nov - first time with an all inclusive bar card Cruise in March - first time attending a wedding onboard. Also on one of those cruises I will be parasailing. LorrieB Posted June 2, 2009 #80 Share Posted June 2, 2009 On my next cruise I vow to: Go to afternoon tea at least once. Eat breakfast and lunch in the MDR. Remember to take pictures of all the food. Remember to take pictures of all the menus. Take a nap. Take a dessert to the balcony and enjoy it AFTER joining the balcony club. And last but not least: Go dancing with my husband who is an excellent dancer!!!!!!!
mistyinca Posted June 2, 2009 Author #81 Share Posted June 2, 2009 Take a dessert to the balcony and enjoy it AFTER joining the balcony club. You know, that dessert at the end makes the idea of joining the balcony club more appealing! :p
mudpievelour Posted June 2, 2009 #82 Share Posted June 2, 2009 What is this all inclusive bar card?????? Yea.... sounds like a winner.... Don't make me beg.... tell me about the card!!!!!!! Tell me more about this all inclusive bar card??????? You have to be in a large group and everyone in the group (even the t-totalers) has to pay for the card. It is some ridiculous amount, especially for the non-drinkers. I think the number $300 comes to mind.
cathyoo Posted June 3, 2009 #83 Share Posted June 3, 2009 mudpievelor has it almost right. But it is a charge per day. So on shorter cruises less and longer cruises more. I think I'm paying about $35-40 a day. Could be a problem for my DH he's a beer drinker. But I'm a foo-foo or Margarita drinker, (I don't mind starting my day with a bloody Mary or a Mimosa either) I think I'll get my monies worth or at least I'll have fun trying. davy jones Posted June 5, 2009 #85 Share Posted June 5, 2009 Our next cruise is the first we have taken that doesn't have beach intensive posts (Canada from NYC). Does that count? I guess the first time on a specific ship doesn't count either? I really enjoy lunch in the MDR on sea days. It's a respite from the chaos that the lido can be at times (particularly lunch time). I already go to the gym, so that's not new. This time I will try. 1. Afternoon tea with DW. She has done it, but I have not. 2. Try some new game. 3. Play mini golf. The last one will be challenging. 4. Balcony club while not having a balcony cabin.

sports-mom Posted June 5, 2009 #90 Share Posted June 5, 2009 On our previous 2 cruises, i was always wanting to go and do things. Not wanting to miss out on anything. So this one I think I will try and reserve 1 sea day to just relax and kickback.. and just enjoy the day, the weather, the sun, my DOD's, and watching the kids have fun swimming/sliding. Maybe play a round of mini-golf with them. Not being on any schedule.. like a vacation should be. ;)
