Beds on Jewel

This will be our first time with RCI. Sometimes beds are an issue for us on cruise ships. How are the Jewel's mattresses? Do they offer eggcrate foam pads, or are they even necssary?

No, eggcrates aren't needed. They have new, pillowtop mattresses...You'll sleep like a log!

Sailed to the Baltic in May on the Jewel, and had the most comfortable bed ever on any cruise ship.:D:D

 

We usually go with Princess and always ask for an eggcrate, but no need on the Jewel if all of the cabins have the same beds.

The bottom corners are even somewhat rounded, which is really nice for walking around the bed.

Thanks for your replies. We sailed the Caribbean Princess last year and definitely needed the eggcrate topper. So good to hear that we'll enjoy pillowtop beds on the Jewel. It sounds as though she lives up to her name!

Which cabin? We are in 8104 on the hump elevator side.....Anyone in the cabin to share info: Is the balcony slightly bigger than the rest...in the picture it looks like it.

We are booked into 7108. Any comments about that location? Is being close to the elevator a plus or minus?
