rescue111b Posted August 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Looking for a reasonable hotel for the night before a dec. 10 2009 cruise from miami. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
cb at sea Posted August 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2009 Holiday Inn is near the port...across from Bayside Marketplace and the port is visible...Taxis will cost about $24 to the hotel, and about $8 to the port the next morning. If you want something more "upscale", Intercontinental (a Holiday Inn property) is across the street, next to Bayside....
JohninDC Posted August 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2009 Depends upon what "reasonable" is to you and what are you looking for - downtown? Beach? Arriving late and just want dinner and a nearby bed? Holiday Inn is a popular downtown choice with many cruisers, as is the Hyatt and others; if you are arriving late I'd suggest staying near the airport (look in the Blue Lagoon area) and then cabbing to POM the next day. If you arrive early enough, I'd suggest South Beach for great dining, beach, and people watching. Check these boards and tripadvisor before you book anywhere. Good luck!:)
65viki Posted August 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2009 We have reservations at the Best Western on the Bay Inn, nice thing, it's on the Bay! They offer a free shuttle to the POM, and you can get a cruise pkg with them which isn't too bad. One nice thing, we don't have to give up our room until we leave for the port - at 12, 1, or 2. If we fly into FLL it's a cheaper flight (SW) and SAS charges only $10 per person to get to the hotel.
