  1. It wasn't AI in 2012 and 2013, the first of the three cruises we took we paid to upgrade to find that there was a £1.50 surcharge on Captain Morgan rum. We just paid as we went following that.
  2. IMO no. P&O cater for retired people during off peak periods, many that don't drink much which is us now, plus many take medication that doesn't mix well with alcohol. We used to cruise regularly with what was Thompsons but stopped when they went all inclusive as I do not feel the need to subsidise other peoples drinking. If P&O go all inc then I very much doubt we would continue using them.
  3. Not always Sue, Princess do have some well priced cruises if they suit your needs. We are on Sky Princess to USA and Canada whereas the Arcadia equivalent is just over £1000 pp more for the same cabin grade.
  4. Another cracking day here, we have sat out most of the day in nice hot sunshine. We are having friends for tea and have set the garden furniture for dining out as it looks to stay sunny. Nice that others are getting some nice weather as we have had it all week.
  5. If the accountants get there way probably sooner rather than later, as they will look at profit and not customer satisfaction or goodwill. Someone needs to help out with the Carnival dept mountain.
  6. Some info here. Being the cynic I am this is being used as cover to push people to spend a few quid more in the bars. https://theinsider.carnivalukgroup.com/what-we-stand-for-2/hess/
  7. You can bet your bottom dollar that some of these scrotes will then complain about falling standards on P&O
  8. You are probably right, however this suits us as we don't drink a lot and very rarely use wifi so are quite happy to pay as we go.
  9. Another day of two halves weather wise today, the forecast was for a dull cooler day, which was how it started. I risked the shorts and T shirt for our breakfast run to Barnsley and it wasn't too bad. By 13:00 the sun was out and cracking the flags. So we took advantage and built up our vitamin D content.
  10. Especially when they don't even allow you to take your own wine in😄
  11. The big ship little ship mindset is easy to fall into, most of our early cruises were on ships of 1200 or less and we loved them. Once the facecloth and cruise forums started appearing we got the usual "don't like big ship" mentality. We then tried Indy and loved her and have cruised on several big girls since. Horses for courses. We will be on Iona for several weeks to the Caribbean next year and are really looking forward to giving her a try.
  12. This is our latest brainwave, these are planters in Huddersfield town centre and are 40 feet high and cost over 1/4 of a million quid.
  13. New hip is great thanks Graham, I have had no issues and don't give it any thought now as there is none of the pain I had before the op. Are you thinking of getting yours sorted?
