  1. Majestic has an indoor pool but Enchanted does not. It's been a couple of years since I was on the Majestic and the pool was supposed to be adults only but it wasn't being enforced. Others with more recent experience on the Majestic can probably help out here. If you do choose the Enchanted they have a nice Sanctuary and you can reserve chairs in there. The adult pool is just outside the Sanctuary and one deck down.
  2. Have a fantastic cruise! We just disembarked the Enchanted this morning after a very enjoyable week. Have fun, will be following along.
  3. We did a 9 AM flight this morning after disembarking the Enchanted (agree it was a lovely cruise by the way!). It actually didn't start out that way but with schedule changes our replacement flights back to Phoenix would get us back in the evening instead of mid afternoon. Armed with the info that the walk-offs start at 6:30 AM we made the switch to the earlier flight just before the cruise started. It helped that we were in a full suite AND that the suite concierge commandeered an elevator and took us right up to security to swipe our Medallions. But there were a few others ahead of us so it's doable without this little suite perk. There were no lines at the port elevators (which you must use if both of your hands are transporting luggage), we walked right up to the CBP facial recognition devices and there were no taxi lines either. Ditto at FLL - we sailed through check in and walked right up to TSA Precheck. So to summarize we walked off with our luggage at 6:30 and were through airport security around 7 well in advance of our flight. For a brief moment we thought of switching to the 8 AM flight to get home even earlier but we had good seats and didn't want to give them up. We have frequently had flights around 10 from FLL and just used the regular approach of having our luggage picked up the night before and picking it up in the terminal. FLL is so close that it's not difficult to do. The only fly in the ointment is if the ship is late getting back. That happened to us once but the delay was minimal and we were still able to make our flight. I have no doubt that you will be just fine with that flight.
  4. The concierge said go through them and you will have a much better chance of getting in.
  5. Yes they will. I am actually sitting in the concierge lounge enjoying happy hour right now and just asked to be sure. By the way Vladimir the suite experience manager will be onboard until October. He recommended that if you want to do that make your first stop after embarkation the suite concierge lounge to get your name on the list.
  6. I saw that but I think they also allow miles earned by using their branded credit card. I would not be surprised if other airlines followed suit although you never know.
  7. Yes, EZAir is considered a bulk ticket. Back when I cared about PQPs I did the math before choosing how to book so I definitely paid attention to this stuff.
  8. Looks like it wound up being a beautiful day in Papeete after all. Hope you are enjoying shopping!
  9. Just to add on to my last post I did find the section I appended above on this page so it is still accurate https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly/mileageplus/premier/qualify.html And this is still exactly the same:
  10. Yes you will but it is calculated differently from what you would normally earn. This is the page on the United website which describes how the credit works along with pertinent verbiage https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly/mileageplus/earn-miles/united.html#specialty Specialty tickets Certain specialty tickets (including but not limited to unpublished, consolidator/bulk, group, tour and opaque tickets where the fare you paid is not provided to United) will earn miles based on the flight distancefootnote2 and the purchased fare class using the chart below: MileagePlus earnings on specialty tickets for flights departing on or after January 1, 2020 Eligible fare classes on specialty tickets for flights operated by United or United Express Base milesfootnote4 earned (based on flight distancefootnote2) Fare class bonus (calculated from base milesfootnote4) J, C, D, Z, P 100% 50% Y, B, M, O, A, R 100% 0% E, U, H, Q, V, W 75% 0% S, T 50% 0% L, K, G 25% 0% Premier members are eligible to earn Premier bonus miles on specialty tickets, in addition to the miles shown in the table above, based upon the member's Premier status on the date of travel and the base milesfootnote4 earned. Members can earn Premier qualifying points (PQP) on bulk tickets. For flights operated by United, please visit the Premier qualification page. For flights operated by a Star Alliance partner, your Premier qualifying points will be determined by a formula that varies depending on whether you’re flying a MileagePlus preferred partner or a MileagePlus partner. Visit the partner page for the airline you’re flying to learn more. Note that I also found something I had copied from another source to show how it works and I've shown that below - not sure if it's still 100% accurate (I've achieved 1MM status so I don't watch this as much now): Members will earn PQP on bulk tickets for flights operated by United according to the specialty ticket award mile earn and fare class bonuses. Premier qualifying points will be equal to specialty ticket award miles* earned divided by 5. *When calculating PQP, specialty ticket award miles should not include any Premier bonus miles earned from specialty tickets. For example, if you flew one way from New York/Newark (EWR) to London Heathrow (LHR) on a bulk ticket in P fare class: Base miles: 3,465 Base miles earn: 100% Fare class bonus: 50% Award mile earn: 5,198 PQP earn: 1,040 (Award miles earned divided by 5)
  11. Yes that is true but it's not just the training but also empowering them to solve simple issues. The major problems started IMO after they moved the call center offshore hence my comment about it but there are lots or things behind that. I honestly could care less where the person is located if they can resolve my issues AND if I can understand what they are saying to me. A pretty low bar that Princess reps frequently cannot clear...
  12. Actually it is Princess management that is to blame for outsourcing something as critical as customer service to another company who then fulfilled that obligation in the Philippines. And they have been hearing about what a disaster this is but seemingly aren't doing anything to change the situation.
  13. There are a LOT of folks selling black pearls in the Municipal Market that is across the street and a half block in from where the ship docks. No idea of quality but basically you can't throw a stone without hitting someone selling black pearls when in French Polynesia.
