  1. I like a sit down meal but frequent the buffet for breakfast and lunch. The main reasons are selection of items that may not be on the Britannia menu, ability to portion size up or down to my taste, and control of the timing particularly on port days when meeting for an excursion.
  2. Hoping that the canapé directive is temporary until staff become more familiar with the ship and service speeds improve etc. Has anyone seen this on the other Queens concurrently? It would be a shame for Cunard to use the intro of a new ship to bring forward a dreaded “cutback” especially when Celebrity and HAL now seem to be reinstating things that were reduced or taken away. I certainly don’t need to make my pre-dinner cocktail into a mini meal but enjoy the canapés nonetheless.
  3. Thanks for your excellent review. We are booked on other cruises and tours through 2026 including the other three Queens but very interested to try QA in the (somewhat) near future.
  4. Remember these? Although visitors and bridge tours had been suspended by the mid 70’s, this was your official ID for getting on and off in port. No photo and write in your own details! From QE2 - Cunard 150th Anniversary voyage to Halifax - 1990.
  5. Fingers crossed this becomes the new norm rather than the exception.
  6. As a huge fan of ships horns I was glad to see and hear in other videos that QA received a proper large replica Tyfon in addition to her other horns. An impressive voice! Interesting that Cunard have revived the steam effect when it’s been broken for so long on QM2.
  7. With all due respect, please no country! Sorry, JMO, not my thing….. Considering its popularity though I am surprised that it doesn’t have a bigger presence on cruise ships.
  8. The Queens Room is so stark and sparsely decorated and furnished that it will be easily improved if Cunard chooses to respond to the concerns. Not so much in need of “redecorating” as merely decorating to the standard of the rest of the ship.
  9. No apparent effort to force the unwilling into the extra tariff restaurants that I can see. Looks good. Thanks for posting.
  10. Very thorough tour, I like most everything but the extremely spartan and under furnished Queens Room. The contemporary look is generally attractive, far less radical than QE2 was in 1969. Seems like plenty of outdoor spaces topside, including ample shaded areas. Once the service concerns shake out should be worth a try.
  11. Is the elimination of canapés now fleet wide or specific to QA? Are the nuts and potato chips/crisps still offered in Commodore Club? Thanks for any update.
  12. Thanks, excellent information to keep in mind re: “fresh”. Another positive move by HAL, keep them coming!
  13. Ten years ago or so their featured Dutch beer was Grolsch in the bottle with the attached stopper.
  14. Certainly a step in the right direction, why have 150+ years of heritage and then ignore it?
  15. I went to Iguazu prior to my Celebrity Eclipse cruise in January. Booked independently through Ripio Turismo in Buenos Aires, all arrangements were well handled at half the price Celebrity was charging.
