Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Love the smokies too. Very limited choice on our last few cruises. Also only available in a couple of bars. We have to scout out what bars have any and visit those bars to pick up a drink. A good bartender will also know what bar has a supply too. On our last cruise the only Islays available were Tallisker and Glenn Deveron (my spelling may be off). Dalwhinnie has been avalanche on some, but not our December cruise. Haven't seen Laphroaig or Langlavulin (again spelling) post covid. The pickings are really limited for the plated scotches IMHO.
  2. I agree that the Plus wines leave something to be desired. I don't drink enough wine to make the premium 20/day difference worthwhile. I just pay the difference between the $15 and the glass of wine I want.
  3. There is a section of the Sanctuary, the very front by the entrance, that is in full sun in the afternoon. No shading in that area other than from walls.
  4. I'm booked for one this December. It is my understanding that, although expensive, they are all first class. Sure, you can do it yourself for cheaper, but sometimes you just want everything done for you and have nothing to worry about.
  5. Casino cash you didn't cash out? Some expired FCC that was refunded?
  6. I know the OP is concerned about an uncovered balcony, but the balcony will be in shade about half the day. What half of the day depends on the direction the ship is sailing and side of the ship the cabin is on.
  7. My CVP will call when new bookings for regions open up, but that's the only call I get from Princess. I must say, I used to get at.least one mailing a week from Princess, but haven't had one for about a year.
  8. Wow, I'm an experienced Princess Cruiser and I can see how all those Premium, Reserve, gobbledygook gets a newbie confused. Shortly before and after final payment date, check several times a day for a suite to become available. Dont depend on your TA to do this! If one does, grab it or notify your TA to grab it. Don't wait to bid on an upgrade. Anything you can bid for on an upgrade, you can also pay for it and get what you want - IF IT IS AVAILABLE. Offen the bidding price is the same as paying the full price for a sure thing.
  9. On my last cruise in the Caribbean, I was aghast as I watched a table of 4 make and pack sandwiches and snacks at breakfast to take off for their day ashore. Their creativity was amazing. I tried to tell myself, well, if they were on the ship they'd be eating it. But, I'm sorry, I think that is just wrong.
  10. Thanks for posting @Coral. Your posting last year helped us be prepared when bookings opened. We won't be cruising SA in 25/26, but are planning for 26/27. I'll be watching for your posts next year!
  11. I doubt is is an actual trolly - I'm sure the beef comes out of the kitchen like all the other meals. That's why no on knows about it.
  12. Sorry, I added May Reza who was my old CVP by error. She retired a couple years ago and I had to do the hunt to find a new CVP because the one assigned was not helpful.
