OkieCruiser49 Posted February 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2014 We'll be doing the Tulips and Windmills soon. It looks like there are 5 optional tours--generally costing about 50 euro per person. Delft Tulip Experience (Slootdorp) North Holland (Broekerveiling) Battlefield Tour (Landing Fields & Airborne Museum) Kröller-Müller Museum If you've taken any of these, please let me know how you liked them (or didn't). Thanks! OkieCruiser49
rjscott Posted February 26, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2014 The only optional excursion we took on our 'Tulips' cruise was to Delft. We enjoyed it very much and also thought it was a good value. My husband had been to Delft on his own about a year b/f when he was in Holland on business and had free time. He thought he gained a great deal more from our ship's excursion, with a guide, than he did doing it on his own.
H2Otstr Posted February 26, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2014 We have done the Delft and the Kroller-Muller Museum optionals and enjoyed both of them very much. The K-M Museum is an inside and an outside museum.
id est Posted February 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2014 I'd recommend Delft tour as well. Although we haven't done any others. :)
nordski Posted February 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 27, 2014 I went on the Battlefield Tour and the Museum is excellent. Very interesting exhibits and knowledgable guides. If you are familiar with the movie "A Bridge To Far", you will enjoy the insights and details this tour provides.
remydiva Posted February 28, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2014 We have done the Delft and the Kroller-Muller Museum optionals and enjoyed both of them very much. The K-M Museum is an inside and an outside museum. I did the same two tours as you and enjoyed both but why not take them all? At 50 € per it seems a cheap way to enrich your RC. No doubt you have paid €€€€€ for the cruise and more $$$and €€€€ for airfare so why not splurge ,time wise and money wise ,and do it all. When will you ever get the chance again? At least that is how i look at optionals.
