resordanis Posted February 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2014 Hi all, Need some advice please. Have booked a cruise using a future cruise credit. We now might have to cancel this cruise, can you advise whether: a) We will lose this credit altogether? b) We can keep the credit for another cruise once this cruise is cancelled or c) Can I cash in the certificate even though I have used it for one booking, which will now be cancelled. We are still well outside final payment as the cruise is not until January 2015. Thanks in advance:confused:
D&N LUV 2 TRAVEL Posted February 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2014 If you have to cancel they will put your cruise credit bank in your bank and you can use it at a later time or cash it in if you choose to do so. Great, I thought that might be the case, but seeing what other cruise lines do, I am surprised Princess are so generous. Thanks:D
Astro Flyer Posted February 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) You might want to call Princess to confirm what happens if canceling after final payment because it could be lost just like any other cruise. I don't know if cancellation insurance would pay the credit amount or if it's lost. Edited February 5, 2014 by Astro Flyer

Astro Flyer Posted February 5, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 5, 2014 No, the cruise is well with final payment as it is not until January 2015. My mistake...I was thinking of the 100% FCC & not about a future cruise credit "deposit". :o

Thanks:D Another reason we love Princess. We can't lose anything with lots of OBCs to gain.
hotdogworm Posted February 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 5, 2014 One other caveat- it is true the future cruise credit will go back to your captain's circle account until the day it expires as long as you did not book under a non-refundable, non-transferable promotion. I would always suggest verifying this with either your travel agent or by calling Princess directly.

Thanks:D On RCCL, for example, the FCD is never refundable and if you cancel the cruise you used it on you lose it.
resordanis Posted February 5, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted February 5, 2014 On RCCL, for example, the FCD is never refundable and if you cancel the cruise you used it on you lose it. That is the reason I asked as I have recently purchased a Royal Caribbean Certificate and have read all the conditions!

Exactly, my DH says "Princess Pay Us the Cruise" as we get OBC and Military OBC. It is fantastic, but unfortunately, I don't think we will be able to do this cruise even thought the OBC is around $700 for a 10 night cruise!
