TravelnAl Posted January 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2014 We flew AF Premium Economy from LAX to CDG on an A380. We found those seats to be very uncomfortable with limited recline. Can't provide info on any other aircraft.

Just curious.... were you expecting and/or comparing the seats to those in business or first class? Or to those in regular economy seats?
slidergirl Posted January 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Can only speak to the CDG-FLR portion: The non stops are operated by CityJet, an AF regional. All the seats on the flights are the same. Business is made different by turning the middle seat into a table… For the length of the flight, it is OK. There is no Premium Economy on this plane. For the other flight, go explore the Air France website - they usually have a whole section dealing with each class on a flight, showing seats, etc… Also, as a PE guest, you can buy your way into the AF Lounge. If you have any kind of a layover at CDG - definitely take advantage of it. Nice selection of food and beverages, and free Clairins massages!!!! Rare FlyerTalker Posted January 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2014 I suspect that the issue with not liking the PE seats was two-fold. First, since they are a fixed-shell design, the seat reclines by having the base cushion sliding forward along with the back tilting. Some folks don't like that kind of design and prefer the older fixed-cushion style. The other is that, for all its benefits, PE is not a business class sleeper seat. It only has so much recline, so expectations may not have been met. The AF website has extensive detail on PE, including an animated representation that shows the features of the seat. Worth looking at.
