Is Atlantis Waterpark in Nassau "Worth it" ?

Hi! I'll be going to Nassau this winter on a cruise and I've never been to Atlantis. I'm considering going this time, but it's SO EXPENSIVE! $300 for a day pass for two people seems quite high. I'm planning on going to the hotel anyway just to walk around and gamble a little, and wouldn't mind staying the day at the water park, which I'm sure I would enjoy with the friend I'm cruising with ... but wow, just seems very expensive and doesn't even include lunch. We will be docked from 8AM to 6PM in Nassau. Please give me any reviews or opinions you have.....

Thanks!

Just for the record, you can't just "walk around" atlantis without a day pass. You can enter the Royal towers lobby and go to the casino and shop in the old section and marina village, but you will not be allowed to exit to the outside or see the lagoons and aquariums without a pass.

Whether or not it's worth it is up to you. Park opens at 10 and closes at 5 pm in the winter It gets dark early in the winter. And the water can be quite cool.

Ok, well someone told me Atlantis had "a lot of theming" to see, similar to the Themed casinos in Vegas ... so I was thinking I could "look for free" but I guess you are telling me that they don't allow that? ...and I was thinking of gambling a bit in their casino, and purhaps picking up a shirt or something as a souvenier ... so I guess what you telling me is that the nice folks at Atlantis WILL let me into their casino (where I will probably LOSE money, lol) and will let me buy a T shirt (which they make a profit off) but I can't even WALK on their grounds without paying $150 per person?

So I'm back to my original question ... is it worth it? I'll be there the last week of february.

I know the passes tend to tell quickly so I don't want to miss the opportunity to hang out there for the day, but again, it just seems expensive. I don't mind spending the money, and I can afford it, but I don't want to feel "ripped off" after. I mean even "Wet and Wild" only charges like $60 and that's a pretty great water park.

Also, if you guys don't think we will have ideal weather in the end of Feb ... advise me of that as well....

Thanks!

If you don't mind spending the money and can afford it, then you shouldn't feel ripped off. It's a really nice place... but, you can find 4 night Bahamas cruises for less. Personally, I'd rather go on another cruise!

You don't have to do the water park pass to see Atlantis. You could get a Dig's (aquarium) pass which will let you see the aquarium and a little of the outside grounds. Or you could get the beach day pass which will give you access to the beach as well as the aquarium. I'm not sure of the current prices but they are something like $45 pp and $65.

Where can I buy these passes? Is there a website I can look at?

Thanks!

I think you can get them at the hotel. At least that's what we did but Atlantis has changed some things recently. Hopefully someone will pop in with current information.

We usually get the beach passes which give access to all 3 beaches and the aquarium. We skip the main beach and go down to Cove beach which is less crowded. IMO the water park pass is not worth it when you will only be docked for 6 hours which leaves about 5 hours max at the resort. The lines to the slides get pretty long so you may only go down the slides 2 or 3 times. Is that worth 300 bucks? Guess it's up to you....

Hi, where do you get the beach passes? When I click on the link the only options I get are the Aquaventure passes. My concern is not having enough time to really enjoy the waterpark as you mentioned. Does the beach pass also give you access to the swimming pools?

Beach and aquarium passes are not available online. You must show your cruise ID card at the desk at Atlantis in order to purchase. Neither beach nor aquarium past allows access to pools or outdoor activities.

I see, thank you. How much are beach and aquarium passes - adults and kids are the same price?

I think we pay around $65 per person for beach passes.

Yes, I think that's still valid, but the cruiseship could be a bit more.

As for the DIGS aquarium, last i saw it was $45pp/ $35 for kids. Neither allows access to the pools or lagoons.

Just to clarify, you can enter the Coral Towers lobby (where the shuttles and taxis pull up) and walk through the expensive shops to the casino, but the Royal Towers lobby is off-limits; you're stopped as you exit the casino that way.

The Royal Towers lobby is the "Hall of Waters" (with windows into the aquarium, etc.), and it is gorgeous.

Back in 2010 it was accessible to the public, but that is no longer the case. :(

The Coral and Beach Towers were built in 1970 and are nothing to see. They were not build as part of Atlantis, but purchased with the property. There are a handful of overpriced shops in the lobby, but I wouldn't waste my time checking it out. It's old and in dire need of a rehaul.

As mentioned, The Royal Towers, which are the towers you see in the advertisements, are NOT accessible without a day pass.

Keep digging into the info on this thread. I made reservations at a chain hotel (think it may be Quality or Comfort Inn - resies are in folder upstairs) as a room there comes with passes....there are three of us which comes out to less than $100 a piece... We don't need the room....but I thought it would be grand to go to the Atlantis park.

Our first Atlantis experience was on a cruise. We decided to visit and spent the day at the casino. It's a beautiful casino w/ top shelf drinks. The artwork within the casino is impressive. We didn't feel a need to do the waterpark as we were on a cruise and had a beach day the day prior. What we did do is get a casino players' card. We now get an offer to return and stay for free up to 5 nights pretty much anytime we want. We aren't huge gamblers as we love the table games not slot players. We are returning the end of this month. Atlantis is great. Would I pay $300 for a day. Probably not. The water park is awesome but a couple hours a day is good for us.

That'd be Comfort Suites.

Through some sort of unholy -- but awesome -- alliance, guests at Comfort Suites enjoy full access to Atlantis. No other hotels on Paradise Island (except Atlantis itself) enjoy this perk. Enjoy!

We booked at comfort suites last year and enjoyed the day pass to Atlantis. OMG. Best day ever! If you don't get the water pass, and you have kids, you will have some very sad faces. It's really great. We were there in mid Feb and the weather and water temps were totally fine. Our kids are 9 and 13 and we had just as much fun as they did.

I compare it to a Disneyworld day - there's just no comparison to anything else.

I am actually headed to the Comfort Suites in Nassau (to stay, not cruising) this Saturday, 10/10 thru Tuesday 10/13. If anyone is cruising and needs Atlantis day passes for these dates let me know. We only have two guests in our room an you are allowed up to four. I believe the up charge for additional "guests" to get Atlantis passes is about $40 pp. (pinkjame14@aol.com)
