Flying into fll cruising out of miami

Looking for advice as to whether it's best to stay the night in fll and then go to Miami in the morning or better to go to Miami as soon as we land. Also hotel ideas? We don't need fancy, but need clean and safe area. Included breakfast is a plus but not mandatory. What's the best way to get from fll to Miamii.

Stay in Fort Lauderdale and go to POM morning of cruise. Many hotel's to choose from ... a couple suggestions are Embassy Suites & Hyatt Place.

The later you arrive into FLL the fewer options you will have (and the more expensive they get) for transport to Miami. Taxi is about $75-80+

Hotels in the FLL area are generally cheaper than comparable properties in Miami/Miami Beach - http://www.sunny.org is a good place to start your search for FLL tourist and lodging info.

The morning of your cruise lots of shared shuttles will take you to POM for about $15 per person - SAS, QLS, Go Airport and others are regularly suggested on this board. Check their web sites to see if they pick up at your hotel, which will save you a trip back to the airport.

The same shuttles can take you back to FLL from POM after your cruise.

We are planning to stay in FL then use Uber to get to Miami in the morning. For 3 people Uber will be cheaper and faster option.

If you are arriving with lots of day and evening to spend, make sure you choose a hotel in walking distance to restaurants,the beach or other points of interest.

If cruising out of POM while flying into fll, we prefer spending the precruise day in Miami. Gives us an easy relaxed morning.

Definitely stay in FLL and take jiffy Jeff transportation to the port of Miami the next day. Much cheaper to stay in FLL and much nicer areas. Jiffy Jeff is 15 pp to the port from most FLL hotels. They are very reliable and great customer service.
