Grand Cayman

We will be on the Breeze in May and one of our stops is to Grand Cayman. Does the boat dock close to the Seven Mile Beach? Will we be within walking distance?

Also, what about renting scooters?

Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

The ship anchors in Grand Cayman and tender boats take you to the port. It is a short ride. I have read that Seven Mile Beach is within walking distance, but it may depend on what kind of shape you are in. Buses run frequently in that direction and you can get off where you like. Enjoy -- :)

Grand Cayman is a stop where they use tenders to get you ashore. Last time I was there, it wasn't a far taxi ride to 7 mile beach, but it's not walking distance. There may have been a scooter rental place at the port, but I don't remember for sure.

No need for a taxi...hop on the bus! $2.50 pp...easy-peezy! Very reliable...cheap and easy! GC is one of the best islands for DIY stuff!

You are so right. We did just that in January when we went to the Turtle Farm . Runs every 30 minutes.

You will be able to see Seven Mile Beach from your ship as you come in. It runs up the coast to the North from town. You will tender into town. There are a number of different beach "areas" with different names that you can choose from like, Public Beach, Seagrape, Cemetery, etc. There are also beach clubs that are on Seven Mile Beach that people refer to like Tiki Beach or Royal Palms. You can easily take a bus or ask a taxi to drop you off at any part of the beach depending on what you want. Do you want facilities for food, a pool, restrooms, snorkeling, jet-skis, etc. It's literally almost seven miles long of all different kinds of beach area. You can walk to the beach, it can be a long walk, depending on what kind of beach facilities you want. Easier just to grab a cab or bus to the area you want.
