Overtyme Posted February 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2016 I'm curious to hear from those sailing today if there's still visible damage to the ship. Things like the hole in the giraffe's neck, the giant pottery that in some of the videos are seen falling over and cracking, the ceiling that came down, stateroom damage, glass missing or taped up, etc. Is there any visible sign of where things were either patched or if there were once things in place that they couldn't repair or replace and or now just missing? Also, is everything operational such as NorthStar, iFly and the bumper cars?
IsanTom Posted February 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2016 I'm afraid the Giraffe's Neck had to be sewn up! 124 stitches, but it feels much better now! The Pottery is a different story! Many pieces were broken, so we'll need to order some more pieces! The Roller Coaster Cars were blown overboard and will need to be re-ordered. We believe they will be on board for the July 4th sailing! We appreciate your curiosity and hope you will join us for a cruise in the near future! Bon Voyage! robmtx Posted February 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2016 The ceiling you mention was repaired while we were still at sea so arriving passengers today won't know where this was damaged. The bumper cars were running on the last cruise. The broken stuff,, like flower pots, were removed from the common areas while we were still at sea. So for these items, we know they won't be noticeable to New passengers today

And based on another post all repairs have been made which means that NorthStar should be operational as well as all lifts and possibly even the giraffe! Hopefully any art installations are undamaged. I wonder if they've replaced what they've removed or if those things are just gone. Hope everybody has a great cruise this week! Overtyme Posted February 13, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted February 13, 2016 http://www.nyharborwebcam.com/ Cold and windy sail-away... Bon Voyage! It's only going to get colder today. I'm jealous of those that will be in much warmer weather in 36 hours or so. Enjoy your cruise! Looking forward to hearing all of the positive things about this ship for a change. There was never anything wrong with the elevators, they are designed to shut down and lock the brakes when they start rolling too much. There will probably be some plywood around, as the curved tempered glass in the handrails may need to be special ordered, but that would only take one cruise. retired widow Posted February 23, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 23, 2016 I sailed on the Anthem 2/13/16 and did not experience any problems. The ceiling was repaired and sailing was smooth. The crew was polite and helpful to this passenger. The Anthem is back in business to sail.
