mainelycruising Posted March 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2012 Very sad but hopefully at least it will bring closure for the families. It will IF the authorities unblock the ban on DNA testing needed to match the bodies with an identity. For some reason, the court stopped this, leaving loved ones in an awful state of limbo. Any peep about this from Micky Arison? No? Quelle surprise. He has 'moved on'.

Why won't they allow DNA testing? They should be doing everything they can to "reunite" families.

It looks like they have resumed DNA testing according to this article (see update):http://thefreelancedesk.com/?p=

It looks like they have resumed DNA testing according to this article (see update):http://thefreelancedesk.com/?p=345 It was stopped, this is true, as cruiseranfromct said, by Attorney Acquarone representing Officer Bongiovanni. However, as you can imagine, there was strong objection to this & it was recommenced. The bodies have been identified now & the majority of funerals have taken place. The last 8 bodies were identified as: BAUER ELISABETH F GERMANIA NETH MARGARETHE F GERMANIA WERP BRUNHILD F GERMANIA SCHROETER MARGRIT F GERMANIA BLEMAND MICHAEL M FRANCIA LITZLER MYLENE F FRANCIA ARLOTTI DAYANA F ITALIA ARLOTTI WILLIAMS M ITALIA The seven still missing of which 5 have been located are: GANZ CHRISTINA MATHI F GERMANIA GANZ NORBERT JOSEF M GERMANIA GIROLAMO GIUSEPPE M ITALIA TRECARICHIMARIA GRAZIA F ITALIA REBELLO RUSSEL TERENCE M INDIA HEIL BARBARA F USA HEIL GERALD M USA

aggieastrosfan Posted April 18, 2012 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2012 It's good that these families are able to gain closure, but I'm sure they're grieving all over again. Hoping they can find the last two to provide closure to those families as well. Sent from my new Verizon 4G iPad using Tapatalk HD
SomeBeach Posted April 18, 2012 #11 Share Posted April 18, 2012 Posted by heilfamilyupdate in Uncategorized ≈ Leave a Comment Today we received confirmation that our parents, Gerald and Barbara Heil, have been positively identified as two of the five missing passengers recovered from the Costa Concordia several weeks ago. We will now be able to move forward and bring them home to rest. The rescue and recovery crew on the island of Giglio have been relentless in their mission to find the missing and have given us hope through this whole process. We cannot thank them enough for continuing to risk their lives in an effort to find our parents. Our hearts go out to the two families that are still missing loved ones. We will continue to hope and pray for closure for those families. We will not stop praying and following the news until they have found their loved ones as well. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We have so many people to thank. We want to thank everyone in Italy who helped us find our parents and treated us with hospitality. Thanks to our friends, colleagues, neighbors, family and loved ones who were always there for us. Thanks to all those who we have never met who sent us words of encouragement and prayer. We would like to thank the media for respecting our privacy. This blog entry will be our last post and form of communication with the media. We are very grateful for the wonderful articles and stories you did on our parents. They were very special people and you shared this in a respectful manner. We know our parents are together and are happy. We look forward to the day when we can all be together again. Thank you, http://heilfamilyupdate.wordpress.com/
