Cruise line for best adult section?

This isn't what you asked - but often a "pay per day" adults only area on a ship that has a lower starting price, than a "free" adult only area or a ship with very few, if any kids.

So if your goal is to have kid-free time, don't immediately rule out pay to use areas - price out the whole cruise.

I agree.. Disney. so far the only line to actually consistently police the AO areas and KEEP them AO. even during crappy weather( Royal for instance allows kids into the Solariums on itineraries where the weather is problematic for swimming on the open deck)

of course since the per day price on a Disney cruise is often a fair decent amount higher than any other mainstream line, ultimately it may be LESS expensive to sail on a line that offers a fee for use kid free area.

The best answer is to choose a cruise that just does not attract too many young folks. In general, the longer the cruise the fewer the kids and cruising during the school year is also helpful. Do a long HAL cruise and you might find there is not a single child on the ship. In fact, we once took a Prinsendam cruise where the youngest cruiser on the ship was 23 years old (hi Jennifer) and she was only there because she was the companion of her lovely Grandmother.

Only on Vision class with ships that have a Solarium roof that is retractable and can be fully closed during inclement weather. And young children must be accompanied by their parents during these times. All other RCI ships have open roofed Solariums and do not allow young children in there during bad weather. On those ships the minimum age remains at 16, although some publish 18.
