wereready2cruise Posted February 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Hi, I was wondering if there is a docking station - I think that's what is called - in the cabins on the Allure. We cruise on her about 2 years ago and I thought there was. We have a ocean view balcony cabin. We enjoy having music and was wondering if I should bring a small speaker. Thanks. johnjen Posted February 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Not sure about Allure but I've never seen one anywhere onboard the other ships. Given the propensity for Apple's constant changing of charging formats, this would be rather expensive for the cruise industry to have them. ATC cruiser Posted February 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Some of the ships use to have docking stations for your iPhone when the wide 30 pin plug was the standard. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare A&L_Ont Posted February 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Allure has clock radios with an iPhone/iPod docking station. They were installed on the ship when constructed in 2009. Another words, it is really only compatible with devices long retired. ;)
TickledBlue Posted February 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Previous responses are correct, there is a clock radio with an Apple 30 pin connector. We took along a Lightning to 30 pin converter similar to the one below which worked well: https://www.amazon.com/Lightning-Adapter-Premium-Charger-Converter/dp/B01N490T5E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1487854043&sr=8-5&keywords=iphone+30+pin+to+lightning+adapter
