TravelSmarty Posted May 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2010 I prefer our steaks rare to medium rare. How about you guys?
cb at sea Posted May 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2010 Medium +...don't want it dark red and bloody, but a medium pink, with clear juices!
Azure Moon Posted May 30, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 30, 2010 Medium or Medium Well, depends on the moment or how previous steaks turned out on previous occasions at a restaurant.
Bookish Angel Posted May 30, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 30, 2010 Well - always. I eat a filet mignon about twice a year and I always have to send it back because it is pink when I cut it open, despite it being butterflied.
BroncosFan2010 Posted May 30, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 30, 2010 Medium-Rare! Only way to eat a steak. Portofino in RCCL knows how to do it right.
MarkSeattle Posted June 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2010 always medium rare on the ships as they tend to be slightly overdone outside of the specialty restaurants.
cruzeluver Posted June 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Medium-rare to medium. Well-done steak is a travesty.

Ang in Miami Posted June 4, 2010 #10 Share Posted June 4, 2010 Rare! Unless it's beef carpaccio with arugula and shaved parmesan, then of course, raw. :)
Jam81999 Posted June 4, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 4, 2010 Extra Well Done. Cooked throughout. If you know how to prepare it you can keep it juicy and tender and not rough like shoe leather.

Broncofans Posted June 8, 2010 #18 Share Posted June 8, 2010 As long as it's warm in the middle, it's good enough. I like my rare warm. Only thing that beats that is to have it tailgating at a Bronco (as in Boise State Broncos) game. Go Orange and Blue.
mag Posted June 9, 2010 #19 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Rare! Unless it's beef carpaccio with arugula and shaved parmesan, then of course, raw. :) YUM...I'm with you!

SMSACE6 Posted June 14, 2010 #23 Share Posted June 14, 2010 For many years, at least the last 10 years or so, I always ordered medium and usually got my steak the way I liked it, mostly pink in the middle, but with no red juices running in the plate, but for a year or two, now find that my steaks come too well cooked, so lately I switched to ordering medium rare, and lo and behold, they are coming the way I always liked them. So for me; the way to go now is medium rare! :)
retiredkid Posted June 15, 2010 #24 Share Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) Medium for myself......well done for DH and Jam, you are quite right. A properly cooked well-done filet is still tender and juicy. Edited June 15, 2010 by retiredkid
travelgip Posted June 16, 2010 #25 Share Posted June 16, 2010 Just hack the horns off and slap it on a plate! Mooing at me would be the bonus:D
