sawasdee Posted February 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Hi There! Should a 1:30 arrival at LGB (from SEA) be enough time for a cruise leaving San Pedro at 4? Or better to arrange to arrive earlier at LAX? Thank you!
CruiserBruce Posted February 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Sailing at 4pm means being on board 90 minutes earlier. What if your flight is late? No way would I book a 1:30 arrival for a 4pm sailing.
Cruisin' Chick Posted February 1, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2016 I would even avoid a same day flight. What if there's weather issues? Or a major earthquake?
sawasdee Posted February 1, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Thanks for confirming that was a bad idea! We'll plan to arrive the day before!
kenish Posted February 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Good you've decided to fly the day before. One of my sayings- "Every man has a plan that will not work...." :)

Rare Keith1010 Posted February 1, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 1, 2016 I would arrive the day before the ship leave but if you can't early that morning. Keith
Cruisin' Chick Posted February 2, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 2, 2016 If you come in that day (which I stand by my advice above), make doubly sure your driver knows to take you to the port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. If you just say the port, you may end up at the Port of Long Beach, whose one berth serves Carnival.
rbslos18 Posted February 2, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 2, 2016 I would arrive minimally a day in advance. A lot depends on the time of year. During the winter, we arrive two days before the cruise. Even though we live in a moderate climate area, the lesson for us from this winter's recent storm is even a day may not be enough. For our cruise this coming December, we are arriving on Sunday for a cruise that departs on a Tuesday. Conceivably, we would have missed the ship's departure last December if our scheduled arrival had been the day before.
