Should I update my GTY luggage tags

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi all, We booked a GTY cabin and received our luggage tags before the cabin was assigned. Now that I know the cabin number should I try and overwrite the tags or will they do this upon check-in ensuring the luggage does not go astray.

BTW - we booked a V2 GTY (as that was all that was available at the time) - now have cabin 817 - seems fine to me.

  • 3 weeks later...

No one needs to tell me what to do when I have no cabin number on the baggage label, the label says GTY and I have been given a cabin number via the website 2 weeks before the cruise.

Since I want my luggage to get to my cabin as fast as anyone else's luggage gets to theirs, I want my label to BE like everyone else's. So I do what curly wurly says: cross out GTY and write in the cabin number.

This is an example of common sense and "less is more"- as in no need for anyone on the pier to wonder what to do with an unmarked label.

Happy sailing!
