white night party?

Read a few reviews that talked about a "white night party". I'll be on the Journey on March 21st. Do they have a "white night party" and if so....what is it?

They usually do one night per cruise.

It is a night where they set up tables and chairs for dining all over the deck and serve a special buffet. Wine flows it's usual free way and its a really social evening. Later in the evening there is entertainment. The theme is all white and guests are encouraged but certainly NOT required to wear something white - a shirt, scarf, socks or even hankie on the head :)

It is of course all weather dependant but we have had such fun on these nights, usually held when you are late in port. If it rains, the buffet is under cover, you sit to eat in Windows and they use one of the lounges for the entertainment.

By the way the dining room us still open, some guests have dinner there and then just join the entertainment - the choice is yours!

It is as described above. A lot of fun, especially when the weather allows it to be outside. A lot of wine, good food, dancing , and an all around great party. If you can take something white with you, great. Have a great time.

Best evening of my 14 night cruise. Local talent, great music, good food, and lots of fun. Dancing on deck. Most people wear white shirts. Some are in all white. Some are wearing orher colors. Regardless, enjoy. It is rqeally nice. Q

White Night is always one of the highlights of each cruise we've done. On our Quest cruise just finished in Feb, it had to be moved to the theatre due to rain. Initially we were most disappointed but it was just as much fun as on the pool deck. Had the Balinese gamelan orchestra and dancers. This performance was of very high standard. Then we had the Azamara singers, dancers and showband; with many people up dancing and singing along. Great fun. Also, they've updated the repertoire, so there were a lot of new songs.

Our had to be moved indoors but they still did it great and put a Valentine theme with it. They finally had up to date music and the dance floor for the first time was packed. Everyone enjoyed the night, staff included.

On our cruise last October, there wasn't a White Night party at all. No mention of why there wasn't one either. Disappointed!:(

I wondered if it was because the cruise was mostly sold out to a big group.

Given that this is to occur on the open deck, can one assume (with the inherent risk of doing so) that shorts would be acceptable attire?

Shorts are definitely acceptable !!

They did on our TA last year. It was moved to the Theatre due to poor weather but still a good night.
