Sunny AZ Girl Posted July 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2014 We have been absent from the Mexican riviera for a long time, but are now planning a return next year. I am debating between spending the day on the Malecon or using the ship excursion to Las Caletas. I have been to the Malecon, but have wanted to experience Las Caletas for quite a while, just never made it there. Has anyone been there recently? Is it still nice? Ine Posted July 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2014 Not recently, but Las Caletas is still one of the nicest and populair trips.
tonit964 Posted July 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 2, 2014 We haven't been recently but it was one of our favorite excursions we did in Puerto Vallarta! For us it was worth the $$$. Thinking about doing it again when we go back this November. You can read the many reviews on Trip Advisor.
greenscooter Posted July 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2014 Visited Puerto Vallarta in March of this year. We walked along the new Malecon during the day and did the Rhythms of the Night ship excursion to Las Caletas in the evening. We really enjoyed the whole experience and thought the island was beautiful all lit up at night with candles and tiki torches. The boat ride over was a lot of fun and we were fortunate to see a whale as well.
MaiTaiMary Posted July 7, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2014 How long is the trip? We'll be in PV from 8:00a - 8:00p. Just wondering if we have time to do Las Caletas and something else.

Vallarta Adventures is the excursion operator for Las Caletas. http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/tours/las-caletas-day-trip If the excursion is sold by your ship, you will have to book it through the ship. Your twelve hour stay will allow you to do the Las Caletas excursion and have about four hours additional time to be a Vallarta tourist too. Enjoy!
