Casino comps

If you are talking about the letter you got from the Casino the last night of your cruise, call right away. It's called a Bounce Back offer. It is only good for the two week period after you recieve it. You can book cruise that sails up to 6 months (but usually only the next 3 months) after your original sailing.

Cruises are limited to ones that are available from the Casino, and you only have to pay the Port fees and taxes.

They are a good deal. I have taken them up on 4-5 cruises now and love the discounted cruise.

I've taken a couple of them and paid roughly $178 for a 7 night cruise for 2.

I might also add that I've only received them if I didn't already have a future cruise booked.

While I have read that to be true on the future cruise booked, I just got off the Breeze in April, with my Dec 2017 cruise already booked, and recieved the letter in my mailbox for a "free" cruise. So that is not necessarily true.

I think it is up to the casino Hosts of each ship. I do play alot and, though the host is resticted on how amy letters to give out, I think they simply pick the guests that they think deserve it.

And before I get alot of responses on how I deserve it by losing a lot of money, stop right there. I have come away with winnings and have lost before, and still received an offer.. It is NOT based on how much you lose, it's based on how much you play. Last cruise I won around $400-$500 for the week and still got the letter.

I agree with it is not how much you lose. I think if you interact with the dealers and pit bosses it will help in your comps. I received drinks on us but because I had purchased the cheers package they gave me 2 steak house rewards!!!

I've made that assumption the past as well, however on my March cruise I received a bounce back offer while I already had 2 other cruises booked.

Unfortunately, now the DOU card is essentially worthless if you've also purchased Cheers because all of your drinks are rung up against your Cheers program and count against your 15 drink limit.

I don't chase points anymore for that very reason.

As far as not getting a "free" cruise if you already have one booked - from what I understand that isn't the case with Bounce Backs - it's the Pack & Play "free" cruises that you won't be offered if you have another one booked. I too have received the Bounce Back letter even though I've had future cruises booked; however, the only time I get a Pack & Play is AFTER my latest cruises are finished with nothing else booked.

okgirl, it doesn't hurt to ask for something else.

I have to agree with the interaction with the casino Host, Pit Boss and the dealers. Tipping well never hurts also.

And I get the DOU card but very rarely drink while I play. The dealers and pit boss recongnized that one cruise, so I was offered a free Steakhouse dinners several cruises ago. I thanked the Casino Host that night, and he must have recorded it in my profile. I have recieved several other free reservations since, including my last cruise in April, where I made a reservation early in the week and it was comped later and never showed up on my bill.

One more question.... Does the dou work at the casino bar if you are not playing at the time?????

Never tried it, but you surely can. As long as it takes to get a drink sometimes, you could just tell them you had to leave the table to get one.

One thing I have always wondered about, does the wait staff get a auto tip on a drink from the casino. Probably not, so that is why they don't come around as often for a DOU patron. So I will always give a couple of $1 chips when I get one. This one cruise many years ago, I was doing exceptionally well at the craps table. I started giving $5 chips as tips for a drink, and had no problem getting service. Figured it was still half price from paying for drinks regularly. I usually order drinks for my wife and she sure liked it that night. Kept her well lubricated.

I don't think so. On the Sunshine in January, they had a great coffee machine at the casino bar. Made a fresh cup on the spot. Best coffee on the ship. Walked in one day, stopped at the bar to order coffee, and the bartender said if I gave my order to one of the wait staff I wouldn't have to pay for it. There was a waiter standing right there, so I ordered from him, he gave the bartender my order, she made my coffee, handed it to the waiter, he handed it to me. Tipped them both. Seemed a little silly, but she didn't have to tell me that, she could have just made the coffee and charged me for it. I thought it was very nice of her.
