Port Charges & Taxes

When determining what amount of insurance to purchase should I include port charges and taxes?

Never really thought about it before but recently had a cruise with ports cancelled due to weather and the port charges were credited to our account. So if we cancel before a cruise do they refund the port charges and/or taxes??

You should include all your non refundable costs including port charges , Taxes , airfare and any other non refundable deposits.

Buy insurance to cover prepaid and non refundable expenses ... I was told by both Princess and HAL that taxes and port charges are refundable ... ergo, you do not need to cover them

I had to cancel a carnival cruise after final payment and we were refunded 100% of the taxes and port charges.

Can anybody tell me if the port fees & taxes are pp or total? A friend of mine was compped a cruise, buy she has to pay port fees & taxes ($185 & $90). I think these are total, but I wanted to make sure.

Port Taxes and fees are by person not cabin.
