I just returned from the Carnival Glory and entered the slot tournaments on both sea days. Not only did I make it into the finals both times but won both finals. $500 each. Also received two certificates for entries into the slot tournament on the Carnival Dream May 24th for up to $100,000 in prizes. Each entry is worth $500. Not sure yet if we can make it. If not, I was told I can sell them on Craig's List by the casino.

Congratulations! I've also won 2 seats on the November 8th cruise for the ultimate slot tournament but don't plan to use them. So it sounds like they will have another one on May 24 on the Dream. Thanks for the update.

Congratulations! You are quite lucky!

I entered several slot tournaments when it was free as a platinum perk and have 2 black and 1 white tee shirt to show for my effort. I did well in the prelims and bombed horribly in all the finals.

Can anyone tell me how the slot tournament works? We are on the Magic Oct 12 and would be interested in playing, but have never been in a slot tournament before.

I'd like to know more about the tournaments too. How many people were playing and how long did it take? Some of the onboard events (bingo for example) seem pretty disorganized and take much longer to get going. If I enter a slot tournament, should I expect to be in the casino for an hour? 2 hours? Thanks for any info you can provide.

The slots tourney runs over a period of about 4 hours. Show up at about the 3:15 time slot of that four hours....and do your preliminaries. This will take 15 minutes. If you are lucky enough to qualify for the finals allow another half hour.

This is not true for the OP who posted that his win qualifies him for a May 24th cruise

No talent required. Just purchase the entry for $25, sign the sheet to play in one of the qualifying rounds, press the button over and over for the allotted time and try to get enough points to get your name on the board. Those qualifying rounds usually go on for 3 or 4 hours. The top scorers compete in a final round and the top scorer in the final round wins cash; $300 to $500 depending on the cruise. They typically only pay one prize to the top scorer in the final round. And this year, Carnival has been giving the top 2 scorers in the final round a free entry for their periodic ultimate slot tournament. If you win one of those 2 seats, you must pay to cruise on the specified ship/sail date to participate in that ultimate slot tournament. I found the prices for that to be more expensive than usual.

Oh, and the top scorer, in addition to their $300 to $500 prize also get a ship on a stick and a t-shirt. In fact, all players in that final round usually get a free t-shirt.

When I competed, I showed up and waited for a seat in one of the preliminary rounds. One bank of slots was used maybe 8 or 10 seats? Top score or two from each prelim usually qualified for the final, there was a leaderboard and positions changed after each prelim round. Technically one could win a prelim but not qualify for the final if that score didn't beat those already posted on the leaderboard. I rarely stayed around after my prelim, I just went back prior to the final to see if my score survived. I wound up in 3 finals, coming in last or next to last in each and got 3 tee shirts. Sigh.

little confused and have never done one of the slot tournements but have always wanted to, so please excuse my seemingly basic questions....

1. how do you wind up in 3 finals... do you register in 3 different tournements ? and if so, do you pay 25.00 for each tournemenet?

2. is there only one day on the cruise when the tournement is held, or do they have multiple tournements on different days?

3. it was mentioned that you push the buttons as fast as you can for as many times as you can to rack up the points... so do you start with a certain amount of credits and play the maximum as quickly as possible to try and get as many ponts as possible? Could you feasible exhaust all of your credits in a matter of a few minutes if you were playing maximum and lost each time?

4. it has been said that there is no skill involved, however are there any TIPS or TRICKS ? or just keep pushing the button as fast as you can for as long as you can?
