buying trips in Costa Maya

we are not sure if we want a snorkel trip in Costa Maya but if we do are there places to buy it right at the port? i dont like buying that kind of thing from the ship they are always overpriced.. What is the closest ruins if we want see that? we opted not to do Tulum because of the long ride out to it.. :)
