Verandah guar. ?

We have a guarantee verandah for our next cruise. This is pretty much a first for us, and we are very excited!

I will be jotting a note to HAL inventory to 'share with them' our likes and dislikes.

Things about us.. hubby likes the casino, i like the aft pool. We will probably not eat in the main dining room.

Please share with me what and where i should suggest to inventory.

When you have a guarantee HAL will put you wherever it works for them. If you want to be in a certain place better to pick a room and be happy with it. Can you imagine if everyone with a guarantee gave HAL marching orders. Just an fyi I book a guarantee almost every time. Some rooms haven't been the best, some great. That is the chance you take.

You will be assigned what is available, that is part of booking a GTY. I am not sure they attempt to balance such preferences.

Save your time and either pick a cabin from the current inventory and pay the extra $s or be happy with whatever cabin HAL assigns to you. If you have a travel agent this should have been explained to you in detail. You can not make suggestions after you choose a guarantee.

We have done a few guarantees and been upgraded each time. BUT we would have been happy with any cabin in the guarantee catagory.

HAL gave me this info, email address, and time frame to send the email. I had never heard about this.

I WILL do as instructed by my HAL gal.

Your origional post did not indicate that you had allready accepted an upsell offer from HAL or that HAL had requested that you send further information to them.

Our answers were based on you having initially purchased a veranda guarantee then wanting to choose where you would be placed.

I think I can safely say "we" are all going to be curious about this. Is your HAL Gal also known as a PCC or a HAL reservation agent? Most of us are going to say we have never, ever heard of such a thing as requesting our wishes for a guarantee cabin location.

i booked an inside G. 14 nights, then the price wend down 100. each. I was offered several things, and the V. G. for 150. more was taken. I'm not sure if it was an up sell.

HAL reservation agent, or HAL Gal, gave me the info. I have booked insides G, and have never done this before.

I wouldn't say that was an upsell. I've never heard them ask for specifics for placement. I have found that they are pretty good with suggestions when asked. I would see what they have because if someone tells you XXXX cabin might be good it might not be available.

Last year I booked a guarantee for the first time ever. We were offered an upgrade (then an upsell), but at no time were we asked for any preferences or an input at all by HAL. Perhaps there has been a change in the system, but I imagine that would bog it down even more, waiting for responses and trying to match cabins to pax.:eek:
