Shoe cruise wardrobe

Well..I do warm weather cruises, so I have no real need for anything but flip-flops, casual sandals, and evening shoes....I bring as many pair for evening as I need....usually 2-3 pair. Even when strolling thru towns, I'll wear either flip-flops or sandals....I don't do "walking shoes"!

I suppose it depends upon whether you have any "formal" events.

We cruise with Oceania, which is "country club casual" (no formal), so I travel with a nice pair of sandals for evening, a closed-toe walking shoe, and two pair casual sandals. I have to strongly resist the urge to pack more, but these four usually do the job.

Let's see - for a multi climate cruise -

Runners

dress shoes x 2

Walking shoes (for shore excursions) x 2

Sandals for on the ship

Shoes for casual evenings on the ship

Slippers if it could be cold in the cabin

= about 8?

If I am flying to port then it's a total of 4 pairs. Biggest and heaviest on my feet, and three pairs packed. The three pairs will be one casual, one dressy flat, and flip flops. Wearing a size 10 shoe limits the number when flying...take up too much space.

If we are driving to port, then I am in the double digits.

I would say 7-8 for a 7 night cruise and 2 nights in the embarkation city.

2 pairs of flip flops

Black dress sandals

Silver dress sandals

Espadrilles

2 pairs of flat sandals

My closed toed walking sandals if I'm going to be doing something where I need them

I may bring my running shoes this time.

When we did the Med last year I took 4 pairs - 2 sandals I could either walk in or use for dinner, 1 pair flip flops, 1 pair light sneakers ( they were Easy Spirit from the travel collection) additionally I wore a pair of walking slip ons ( another set of easy spirit but more like sneakers) on the plane.

I can't wear heels, so the sandals were great multi-purpose shoes

Similar problem going to the Norwegian Fjords and Arctic Circle. I plan to take one pair of flat dressy-ish dinner shoes, and several pairs of rubber soled walking shoes.... one of which is water resistant. I toyed with the idea of taking ankle boots for warmth and comfort, but just can't wrap my mind around wearing boots in the summer.

Shoes equal weight in my luggage when flying to port so this is always a problem but I try to do one pair of flip flops for the pool, sneakers, teva walking sandals, another nuetral color flat sandal and a neutral sandal with heels for formal nights. But then I end up throwing in one more flip flop and another dress shoe and a ballet flat if I have extra weight lol.

I found some great sneakers that weigh less than 6oz!!!

They are BZEE's by naturalizer and come in many styles and colors, all with low weight.

Our cruises are mostly warm weather ones for which I take the following:

1 pr. flip flops for pool and to use as slippers in the bathroom and cabin.

1 pair kicks for any excursion that requires closed-toed shoes and for the gym.

4-5 pr casual sandals

2-3 pr dress sandals

1 pr water shoes

If I'm flying, I wear my kicks, if driving, a pair of sandals.
