Mayo Beach Experience Through RCCL

Has anyone done this excursion? One of the main things we want to experience is the planes there. How far is it to walk to the shops and casinos? The website describes it as a short walk.

I am so excited to see the planes come in at Maho Beach. That's the port I am looking forward to the most.

You can get to Maho by yourself either by taxi or bus....Absolutely a waste of $$'s to book this as an excursion thru your cruiseline.

We prefer to take the water taxi ($7.00pp round trip or as many times as you want for the day) from where the ship docks across into town.

I agree with the above poster. You don't need tour for the plane at Maho beach. You can do it yourself easily. Casino Royale and the Maho shopping district are just a few minutes walk from the beach.

Take a taxi. You will have more control. We went to Maho on our private tour guide tour. It's pretty. We did see a few smaller planes fly over which was fun. Keep in mind the 747s no longer fly into St Maarten.

We used Bernard at bernardstours.com and loved our excursion. We saw more of the island than you are talking about doing but he will customize to what you want to do. They were so informative and helpful. I highly recommend using him. Hope you have a great trip!
