I was on this tour with you. It was a great tour and very informative. I even sort of made it into this picture :D

That's me, hiding behind the head. The one on the left with the dark sleeve of a tshirt showing and glasses.

Thanks, we certainly enjoyed our time on Oasis. Looking forward to celebrating my birthday there again in 2017 and will book as soon as the schedule comes out. :)

Bill, good shots from the tour, especially the shoreside homes and yachts. Definitely some big money there. I liked the one of Oasis under the 17th St. bridge! :)

Thanks Karen, I got those shots in before the rains hit and drove us inside. Still a fun tour for anyone that has not seen the how the rich live. :p

Bill was the FLL tour from the ship or independant? We would be interested in something like that instead of sitting at the airport for 7-8 hours.

Norine

Norine,

We used the ship's excursion, it was $59 pp. It may be cheaper with an independent but we went with the convenience of using Royal. They had us get luggage tags #1 from our stateroom attendant and we were off the ship by 8.

I'm hoping to see the Seahawks on our Adventure cruise on Feb 1!:)

Bob, I'll have a lot of questions regarding Adventure when you return. We'll be boarding her in May, and I'm certain that I will need your wealth of experience! Have a great sailing... :)

OP- Question- If you were not able to spend all your OBC from RCL did they allow you to take it out at the casino (for gambling of course:)) and pay the 5%?

Sorry but I can't help here are we have no problem using up all of our OBC so we have not looked into cashing it in.

If you don't use yoru OBC it is lost an dyou can't apply it to another cruise. You can us it for tours, specialty dining, drinks or drink packages and gratuities. It's one of those things - Use it or Lose it. It won't be available foruse in the casino.

Check out the FAQ on the Royal web site.

You can take it out as cash in the casino and pay the 5%. The docs say you can't use it in the casino but the Vow to WOW flyer says get up to $300 OBC to spend anyway that you like.

Thank you for taking the time to post a great review Bill. It is always a joy to read your reports. Marie is very photogenic and the happiness she portrays always brings a smile to my face.

We have had a major weather event in our part of the world and had no power for a whole week. I had saved your review to read on a day I could relax and I have really enjoyed catching up,

Thank you again.

Hi,

Thank you so much I am glad you enjoyed it. I admit, I have gone back through the report myself just to re-live the fun. :o

May, we are taking Jewel up the west coast from San Diego to Vancouver B.C.

Stops in Catalina, an overnight in San Francisco along with a visit to Victoria on Vancouver Island.

Should be fun, we even have tickets for the San Diego Padres the evening before the cruise. :D

Actually it is just a 6 day. But we will be back on Jewel in September/October for B2B 7 day cruises out of Los Angeles. So we are getting a lot of opportunity to enjoy Jewel this year. :)

FYI I was able to take out my non-refundable OBC at the casino and pay the 5% fee.

Since we will be on all of those sailings with you and Marie, I especially look forward to reading your live reviews. Thanks for the past and future memories! :)

Exactly right, you can take the cash from the casino cashier. It is better to pay the 5% fee than to lose the OBC. We have never had a problem doing this, and just withdrew cash on our February cruise. :)
