Seattle Area and Cruise Port Transportation

There are many threads down the board on hotels, transport options and so many other things. Seattle is not cheap in the summer, so if budget is an issue, many stay out by the airport. But staying downtown has great interest.

How much the taxi cost depends on location, so you need to nail that down first. Uber is also available in Seattle. Much cheaper.

Are you flying in the day/night prior and just looking for an overnight or staying a few days pre-cruise?

We are flying in the night before our September cruise and staying at a Sea-Tac hotel and then spending several days at The Moore close to Pike Place Market post-cruise.....

Lots of variable enter into the planning including amount of time pre and post cruise as well as if cruising with NCL (Pier 66) or not (Pier 91). 66 is downtown and 91 is a couple miles north of downtown in area with no hotels closer than downtown. As noted hotels are less expensive near the airport but all the interesting things are downtown. Pre or post cruise touristing comes in two flavors - downtown and vicinity and wider ranging with a rental car such as to Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens or Olympic Peninsula. If wider ranging then hotel options expand greatly.

Taxi Fare Finder says airport to Pier 91 fare (w/tip) would be about $60. Note if going directly to airport after cruise don't book return flight earlier than Noon to allow for getting there and security. A little earlier if you have TSA Precheck or Global Entry.

As much as I like downtown Seattle, it's become prohibitively expensive. I've been staying someplace close to SeaTac and then using the light rail to get downtown if I want to go there.
