First Time Here

Our first visit to St John's Antigua...not interested in a beach day...what else is there to do...Thanks so much for any suggestions :)

We did take the Caribbean helicopter tour over to the live volcano on Montserat . :D

I was fantastic . :)

Nelson's Boatyard is nice and easy---restaurants, shops, pretty boats and a whole lotta history-----$8 admission---easy to get to by cab or on the $1.50 pp bus----also has small grocery store and nice bakery

Is there a beach near Nelsons boatyard if we wanted to do that in addition to the museum and shops?

We loved nelson's Dockyard when we were there 10 years ago! Really recommend it.

If you are thinking within walking distance of the Dockyard, then no.

The cruise pier in St. John is mid-way on the west coast.

The Dockyard is on the southern coast.

Returning from the Dockyard (heading north west to the pier) there are many beautiful beaches. Our favorite is Turner Beach. We especially enjoy loungers under the trees and a very nice restaurant/bar there. There are a few local craft vendors set-up, but you have to approach them (no-one will come up to you at your beach chair.)
