JPH814 Posted January 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2017 We want to book a veranda cabin on the Odyssey. We would like it to be mid ship on a low deck to minimize possible seasick issues (my wife is very sensitive). The descriptions talk about the V1 and V2 cabins having a partially obstructed view because "Veranda railings are part metal and glass from floor to teak rail." Has anyone had any experience with this and is it very annoying?
2SailingNomads Posted January 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2017 We often stay on deck 5 - and have no issue with the part metal. Unless you are lying on your bed trying to look out and want to see the immediate sea near the ship I doubt you would notice it. As a friend says as regards to booking high floors: you pay to sway. If you are sensitive to motion in the ocean - as my wife is - and want to minimize it deck 5 works well and you have a veranda. Personally I prefer deck 8, so we compromise: sometimes a V6 some times a V2 :)

seacruiser123 Posted January 10, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2017 Ditto. I love the 5th floor and have no issues with the metal lower portion- does not obstruct your view. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
nolatravelgirl Posted January 17, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Refer to this thread for photos. It is from the Quest but railings are the same. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2242202&highlight=metal+balcony
